Traders Hotel

Introduction
Located about 10 - 30 minutes drive from the Manila airport, depending on traffic conditions, Traders Hotel is a 4-star hotel in the Philippines that offers spectacular views of the amazing sunset over Manila Bay. Traders Hotel is also conveniently located near to the Cultural Center Of The Philippines Complex, as well as the 4th largest mall in the world, the SM Mall Of Asia.

Ambience
Ambience within Traders Hotel is modern and contemporary, with touches of extravagance. The lift lobby at the ground floor is flanked by paintings and a golden-esque mirror, while the conference foyer looks like a grand ballroom with floor length mirrors and chandeliers. But the ambience along the corridors to the rooms is lacking, as the lighting is dim, and the grey carpeting doesn't make the wall decor stand out.

Room
I stayed in the Deluxe Room of the Traders Hotel in Manila, which offered a bay view. The bed was sufficiently large and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well stocked with toiletries. I did find the lack of a dining table somewhat odd, as I had to resort to conusming my room service order either on the bed, or at the work desk. Range of television channels is quite good, but could be better. I like that Traders Hotel also provides ironing boards, but the actual cupboard for clothes is too small, partly due to the safe taking up some space within.

Food
Food at Traders Hotel in Manila is very good. The Latitude Restaurant at the lobby has a wide range in their buffet, though the food is mostly Western or Asian inspired. Actual cuisine of the Philippines is mostly limited to 2 or 3 dishes and / or desserts each time. Be conscious though, as the locals typically like their food to have intense umami taste / salty taste, and I found several dishes that were more intense than I anticipated. Drinking more water is advised.

Service
Service at Traders Hotel is excellent. Staff ably assisted us throughout our meetings here, and even when serving us at in the room, or at the executive lounge, I found the service to be outstanding. I also liked their little touch of including their mascot sea horse soft toy as part of the room service, and I left it on my bed over the next few days. The only hiccup came right as I was about to depart Traders Hotel, and I found that the taxi which I had arranged with the reception to book the day before, had in fact not been booked.

Facilities & Activities
Traders Hotel in Manila has a very poorly equipped gymnasium, and the swimming pool is rather small and looks dated. However, the conference rooms / meeting rooms are very well equipped and laid out, and the overall ambience in the conference rooms is excellent. And while Traders Hotel does have a Cyber Cafe, the Coffee.com, this is actually located outside the premises. Fortunately, the entire hotel has complimentary wi-fi for guests. Traders Hotel doesn't have much in the way of activities to offer families, but is still a good choice for business travellers, or tourists looking for a convenient place in the city of Manila.
