The Singapore Corporation Of Rehabilitative Enterprises (SCORE) is a statutory board in Singapore which provides rehabilitation and aftercare services to ex-offenders. Through the training they provide, ex-offenders will have a 2nd chance at life, and eventually integrate into the regular workforce. Among these initiatives is SCORE Catering, a Halal certified, buffet catering service. They offer a range of cuisines including Singaporean, Chinese, Western, and even Japanese!

At SCORE Catering, ex-offenders undergo proper certification courses, such as Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Basic Food Hygiene, ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) Food Preparation, and WSQ Food & Beverages. Under the tutelage of chefs from NTUC Foodfare, these trainees work together in the kitchen in small teams, learning how to prepare, cook, clean, and cooperate with each other.

What I like about the food from SCORE Catering, besides the wide range of over 55 different dishes, is the taste is comparable to a decent Economic Rice stall at your neighbourhood coffee shop. In particular, their baked items / pastries stood out for me, being quite tasty! Prices range from SGD $10 - $15 per person, with a minimum delivery order for 30 people. And while there is a delivery and labour charge of SGD $50, they provide a full buffet layout with tables and table cloths, food warmers, drink dispensers, disposable cutlery, serviettes, and trash bags.

They typically allocate 3 hours for dining, and besides performing the set-up, they also provide the clearing as well. All profits earned by SCORE Catering goes right back into the training of ex-offenders, so ordering from them also contributes back to society!
