Opening in October 2016, Janice Wong Confectionery Boutique is more than a dessert kiosk, but a canvas for Chef Janice Wong's memories and inspiration. Celebrating her tagline; “Your world is your imagination”, each hand crafted dessert confectionery is a true work of art, both in visual form and in taste. Almost too pretty to eat, yet utterly delicious and well balanced. Needless to say, these make for great gifts too.

Ambience at Janice Wong Confectionery Boutique, as a pure takeaway boutique, relies heavily on the brightly lit displays, filled with rows upon rows of colourful, vibrant, whimsical desserts. The bold signage and riot of colours catches the eye from afar. I'm thankful for the concise description labels for each dessert confectionery, which clearly states the ingredients within, and the prices per piece.

Service at Janice Wong Confectionery Boutique is very good. The staff are very knowledgable on each and every dessert variety here, and can share detailed descriptions. They're polite and courteous, very professional and efficient in carrying out requests. Befitting of a premium boutique, their bearing is impeccable, and I'm pleased with the personalisation offered.

Food at Janice Wong Confectionery Boutique is focused on desserts, in particular, chocolate bonbons, Japanese mochis, and Modern Singaporean mooncakes. Chef's philosophy of edible art is reflected in each piece; strikingly beautiful in appearance, exquisite and luscious on the palate. Portions are dainty, befitting each jewel of a dessert, yet flavours are nicely balanced. Expect to spend more for these premium creations, budget about SGD $30 per person for a box of desserts here.

Bite through the thin, fragile chocolate shell, and you get the rich, creamy filling within. Flavours of fragrant almond nuts, and sweet marzipan, yet it's not overwhelming. I like!

The Pandan Kaya Pistachio Ice Cream (SGD $5) has a rich, earthy floral sweet flavour and a creamy smooth texture, the boldness of the pandan / screwpine leaf, and kaya / coconut egg jam, really jumping out in this ice cream. Contrasted beautifully by the crunchy nutty candied pistachio nuts chunks. This decadent dessert is incredibly luxurious. Best shared, as it's really heavy on the palate. Highly recommended!
