Introduction
Located about 20 minutes drive away from the Changi international airport in Singapore, The Clan Hotel is a modern, 5-star hotel set in the Telok Ayer region of Singapore. Opening in March 2021 and inspired by the heritage clan associations that used to live and trade in the area, The Clan Hotel aspires to be the modern business luxury hotel of choice, offering curated experiences for the discerning guest.

Ambience
Ambience at The Clan Hotel exudes a quiet, refined elegance. The opulent black marble tiles and high ceilings lend a sense of grandeur, while floor-to-ceiling windows look out to a view of the cityscape. Glowing light trimmings and polished metal surfaces gleam, while touches of Chinese decor and snippets of 'did you know' facts in the elevator pay tribute to the Oriental heritage of the area. I note there seems to be a signature aromatherapy scent in the common areas, which is calming and woody.

Room
Rooms at The Clan Hotel are spacious, comfortable, and welcoming. I stayed at the Grand Premier Room, which features a large king bed, comfortable bay window seats, a large working and dining desk, and a decent bathroom with rain shower. But it's the luxe touches that set the experience apart from other hotels; from the technologically superior toilet bidet controls, to the well stocked bathroom amenities including a hand crafted soap selection, to artisanal curated Western and Asian teas with a brewing kit. The experience for this room type also includes customising your own complimentary basket of snacks and beverages.

Food
Food at The Clan Hotel is supplied by the Qin Restaurant, operated under the TungLok Group. Step into a modern luxurious restaurant, boasting elements of Chinese medical hall cabinets along one wall, while the other has elevated views of the city from its floor-to-ceiling windows. Service is attentive and personalised (staff recognised and greeted me by name), and they display good knowledge of the daily menu. Dishes are hearty, wholesome, and delicious, made using fresh ingredients, while the bar offers a perfect place to unwind. Love dining here, I look forward to returning.

Service
Service at The Clan Hotel is warm, attentive, and professional. Staff speak politely and accord each guest personalised attention, ensuring that you feel comfortable and have all your needs met. They display good knowledge of the facilities, and of the various curated experiences available. Housekeeping is performed daily according to schedule, and staff go about it efficiently. I like that they make the effort to converse and ensure guests are enjoying the stay. The laundry service turnaround is within the day, and there's also pressing for up to 2 pieces of clothing.

Facilities & Activities
The facilities and activities at The Clan Hotel are catered at young couples or business travellers, with activities such as brewery tours and workshops for sandal making. The gymnasium is among the most well equipped around, with a wide range of equipment, including punching bag columns, supported by ample shower facilities. The trade-off is the swimming pool is rather small, though the rooftop view is beautiful. The Clan Hotel has an excellent location if you're looking for dining options, being surrounded by excellent cafes, bars, and restaurants, all within short walking distance. Will revisit The Clan Hotel soon!
