Introduction
Located about 30 minutes drive away from the Tokyo Haneda International Airport in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Kanto, Japan, the Hotel Gracery Shinjuku is a 4-star hotel in the heart of the bustling Shinjuku district. Opened in April 2015, the Hotel Gracery Shinjuku is a popular base for leisure travellers who want to immerse themselves in Tokyo’s urban energy.
Ambience
Ambience at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku is a blend of contemporary functionality with a unique pop‐culture twist. Its most iconic feature is the giant Godzilla head prominently displayed on the terrace, a nod to local Japanese film heritage, and along with Godzilla exhibits at the entrance, instantly sets a playful urban tone. The overall design leans toward modern minimalism with natural colour palettes, which admittedly can feel utilitarian.
Room
Rooms at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku are designed for practicality and comfort. I stayed at the Standard Twin Room, which was spacious, with comfortable twin beds and clean bathroom facilities. The working desk was decent, and there are universal power sockets available. However, the clock in my room wasn't working.
Food
Food at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku is served at the Sizzler Restaurant and Gracery Lounge, but with the former closed during my visit, and the latter only offering a limited menu, I ended up dining elsewhere. There's a multitude of restaurants and convenience stores nearby (and even on-site), so food options was never lacking.
Service
Service at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku is friendly and efficient. Technology is leveraged through the 24-hour self-service reception, but staff are always on standby to assist. Attentive to guest needs, the multilingual concierge service is welcoming and helpful, demonstrating good knowledge and efficiently fulfilling requests. No surprise that service here tends to be generally well rated.
Facilities & Activities
The facilities and activities at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku has the basic leisure facilities covered, including fast stable wi-fi, laundry services, and currency exchange. That said, business facilities are notably lacking, and there are no fitness options. Located as they are in Shinjuku, there are many entertainment options nearby. Overall, Hotel Gracery Shinjuku is a good hotel for leisure stay.
