Introduction
Located about 45 minutes drive away from the Baiyun international airport in Guangzhou, the 7 Days Inn is a basic, 2-star, no frills motel. The best thing about this place is the convenient location, within walking distance to the Shangxiajiu pedestrian shopping street, and the Changshou Lu metro station. Otherwise, the facilities here are very limited, but on the flipside, they are among the most affordable places in the city.


Ambience
Ambience at 7 Days Inn is lacking. The place shows signs of age, and while the corridors are brightly lit, there is a musky smell. The floor is uneven in some places. I do commend them for having some fake flowers around, which lends much needed colour. Else, there is nothing visually appealing about the place. In addition, the building is shared with other corporations, whose staff sometimes relax in the lobby.


Room
Rooms at 7 Days Inn are basic. It's clean to an acceptable standard, and safety is assured with both a door lock and a chain lock. This at least makes it passable for a stay. The bed is large, but rather firm, and pillows are limited. There is a functional wooden desk with sufficient power outlets. The bathroom is clean and spacious, and I like that towels are clean, plastic-wrapped for hygiene. However, the shower and shampoo is not topped up regularly, and the television sometimes doesn't work. The best part is the fast and stable in-room wifi.


Food
Food at 7 Days Inn is non-existent, because they do not have any kitchen, nor room service of any kind. However, food options are plentiful, as there are many casual eateries and supermarkets within walking distance, most of which are hygienic enough to dine in.


Service
Service at 7 Days Inn is variable in quality. There are some outstanding staff, proactive and friendly, eager to assist, and will anticipate and exceed expectations of your requests. Yet, other staff appear unsure of their own procedures or come across as inflexible.


Facilities & Activities
The facilities and activities at 7 Days Inn is limited. Besides the fast and stable wifi throughout the place, the only other facility is their open pantry for guests, where you can bring in food to consume. They also have a business centre, which consists of 1 public desktop. Essentially, stay here only if you want affordability and convenience, but don't mind less comfort.

Located in the small side street called Linle Road, off the main road, and just a 5 minute walk away from The Westin Guangzhou Hotel, Shan Quan Tang Guan is a rather unassuming restaurant from the outside. Besides the big bold lettering of its signboard, there isn't much else to indicate the presence of Shan Quan Tang Guan, and you'll only see it when nearby. But step inside, and you'll be surprised by this hidden find, with its warm and courteous service, tasty and affordable authentic Cantonese dishes, and lively atmosphere.

Ambience at Shan Quan Tang Guan is modern and lively. The upstairs has a rather small layout, but the majority of the restaurant floor space is in the basement, which is rather spacious. The contemporary Chinese decor is offset by faux greenery, and a waterfall koi pond outside. But the enclosed area does mean that conversations and noise carries well within, and the place gets rather loud when crowded.

There are rarely any tourists / foreigners dining at Shan Quan Tang Guan, which is a sign of a true local restaurant. Service at Shan Quan Tang Guan is efficient, but still polite, though the staff do seem to be in a hurry especially during peak periods. But they are knowlegable, and able to make recommendations, as well as offer advice and insight on ingredients, or meal combinations. However, staff at Shan Quan Tang Guan can't converse in English, and you're better off visiting with someone who can speak either Mandarin or Cantonese. It's also helpful that the menu has pictures you can point to, as well as English descriptions of each dish.

Food at Shan Quan Tang Guan is truely local Guangzhou Cantonese Chinese cuisine. Dishes are large, meant for communal dining, and while considered mid-range in price for locals, is still rather affordable. Ingredients are fresh, and most dishes are very tasty. Specialities at Shan Quan Tang Guan include their range of soups, fish, and roast meats.





The little waterfall and koi pond adds to the overall modern and comfortable ambience, as do the fake plants. Layout is well organised, with groups seated in the larger main area, and couples / families in the partitioned booth area.
























It's helpful that the menu includes both Chinese and English descriptions, as well as clear indications of price and pictures. Dishes are tasty and hearty, and the Cantonese fare is authentic.

Located in the city centre of Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, in the Tianhe District, occupying 2 large floors of a building, Bing Sheng Restaurant is famed for serving traditional South Chinese cuisine that is both delicious and authentic. Bing Sheng Restaurant is in fact regularly recommended by not just travel websites, but by word of mouth from their many satisfied diners. Because of its popularity, making advance reservations at Bing Sheng Restaurant is highly recommended, as the place is almost fully packed all the time.

Ambience at Bing Sheng Restaurant is similar to a fine dining Chinese restaurant, with shades of brown and red colour tones, elaborate Chinese decor, fine tableware, and a lively (noisy) atmosphere. The floor layout is huge and spacious, and they provide waiting chairs for those in the queue. I also like that the tables at Bing Sheng Restaurant are sufficiently large enough to place all the food, while still being a comfortable size to hold conversations over. I also like that they have bright lights to illuminate the center of the table, which acts as a focal point when food is being served.

Service at Bing Sheng Restaurant is very good. While staff can't converse in English, the menu has helpful pictures that you can simply point at to order. Staff are efficient, though the constantly packed place means they're normally rushing about, and you'll have to call to attract their attention. But their table side service when portioning or serving food is very professional. But it's still better if you visit Bing Sheng Restaurant with someone who can converse in either Mandarin or Cantonese.

Food is the highlight at Bing Sheng Restaurant. Dishes are large, perfect for communal dining (don't try to dine alone), using fresh ingredients and pack great taste and flavour. Prices are mid-range, comparable to other restaurants. In particular, Bing Sheng Restaurant does very good Cantonese food, if in doubt, order their soups, claypots, fish or roast meats.





The place is nearly always crowded, despite the large and spacious interior. Without reservations, queue time can stretch up to 1 hour.














Don't attempt to dine here alone, because this place is about communal dining. In fact, a group size of 4 people, or preferably 6 people or more, will allow you to sample more dishes. While most are freshly prepared when ordered, their soups have a limited amount each day due to the lengthy preparation time, and may run out.
