I first got into the Samsung Galaxy S line of smartphones / mobile phones with the Samsung Galaxy S2 in 2011, followed by the Samsung Galaxy S4 in 2013, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in 2016, and the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus in 2021. Now I've gone with their latest release in 2025, the Samsung Galaxy S25+ (also known as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus).

A sleek premium design wrapped in a strong aluminum frame, taller yet slimmer and boasting a more comfortable grip, the Samsung Galaxy S25+ is amongst the Android mobile smartphone devices of choice in 2025, and a significant upgrade in technology when compared to my prior mobile phone. Samsung has committed to a lifespan of 7 generations (or 7 years) of operating system and security updates for the Samsung Galaxy S25+.

Roughly longer than your palm (at 75.8mm width x 158.4mm height x 7.3mm depth, in millimetres) and weighing around 190g (grams), the Samsung Galaxy S25+ feels slim and light. The front and rear is covered in scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, while the metal phone frame uses recycled Armor Aluminum, making it relatively drop-resistant, though titanium might have offered greater drop protection here. It is tested IP68 dustproof and waterproof sealed, which allows submersion up to 1.5m (metres) depth of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.

The ~91.8% screen-to-body ratio display features a 6.7-inch QHD+ (Quad High Definition Plus) dynamic LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) AMOLED 2X screen that packs 3120 x 1440 pixels and a smooth adaptive screen refresh rate of up to 1-120Hz (hertz), making everything look sharp and vibrant. Under direct sunlight, the Samsung Galaxy S25+ has a Vision Booster that goes up to a peak luminance of 2,600cd/m² (candela per square meter, or nits), sufficiently visible for clear screen viewing even under harsh sunlight, although it lacks an anti-reflection coat.

The stereo speakers by AKG Acoustics with maximum volume of 75.9dB (decibels), 32‑bit with 384kHz (kilohertz) playback surround sound with Dolby Atmos technology, zoom in-recording with 3 microphones (positioned at top, bottom, and rear), and a 9-band equalizer, all contribute towards the high quality audio of the Samsung Galaxy S25+. Note that there is no headphone jack, you'll have to use the available Bluetooth 5.4.

The Wi-Fi (wireless network protocol, sometimes misrepresented as wireless fidelity) supports up to Wi-Fi 7 with tri-band and Wi-Fi Direct, which means faster speeds up to 46Gbps (Gigabits Per Second), lower latency due to access point broadcasts on 3 separate frequency bands, and device‑to‑device wireless connection without a router.

Having a good camera on my mobile smartphone is really important for me, and the Samsung Galaxy S25+ rear features a whopping 50MP (megapixels) main camera with 85-degree field-of-view, a 12MP ultra-wide camera with 120-degree field-of-view, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 36-degree field-of-view and 3x optical zoom; while the front-facing camera is 12MP with 80-degree field-of-view. These capture photos quickly, cleanly, and clearly, with images having vibrant true colours and good detail retention. Performs well for daytime, nighttime, indoor, or outdoor photos. Video allows up to 8K resolution at 30fps (pixels by frames-per-second), but is most crisp and stable with 4K resolution at 60fps. There's a further 100x space zoom (or digital zoom) that is AI-enhanced, but this introduces color blotching and blurriness.

Equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy chipset, 12GB RAM (gigabytes, random access memory), 512GB storage space capacity, and 45W (watts) wired fast charging or 15W wireless charging of its 4,900mAh (milliampere per hour) lithium ion battery which lasts between 15 to 20 hours, the Samsung Galaxy S25+ is powerful. It's fast and stable when performing everyday tasks, and capable of handling high-performance activities like gaming, multi-tasking across apps, or viewing in split-screen mode. The biometrics of ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and face unlock are both responsive and fast.

The new One UI 7 software and Gemini integration for the Samsung Galaxy S25+ brings in powerful Artificial Intelligence (AI) features, including natural language search, language interpretation, AI-assisted drawing tools, undesired background noise audio erasing, and image editing and manipulation. The new feature here is the AI ProScaler (similar to Samsung televisions), which upscales blurry low-bitrate videos by up to 40% with the help of AI, for a more pleasing viewing experience.

The Samsung Galaxy S25+ is priced at SGD $1,380 per phone and bundled with a USB-C (Universal Serial Bus Type C) charging cable, with 25W power adapter / charger sold separately. Delivery of order took about 2 weeks in Singapore. Have been using the Samsung Galaxy S25+ since August 2025, and overall, am happy with the experience. Looking forward to using it for some time to come.
