Buyer Beware. To this day, I am unsure what to make of Vinthentic, a fashion apparel and footwear online store that supposedly 'bridges the gap between vintage craftsmanship and authentic modern design'. Vinthentic as a retailer confuses me, here are the facts of my experience.

The Good: The Vinthentic website is secured with Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), which ensures the security of transmitted information. There are 3rd-party sites rating the trustworthiness of Vinthentic, with verified good customer reviews scoring them highly. The range of footwear designs is eye-catching, fashionable, and modern, exuding sophisticated luxury. Payment of my 2nd and 3rd orders through the Shop app (a legitimate app) was smoothly processed, with supporting receipt. My 2nd order from Vinthentic was delivered in about 1 month from purchase date in a timely fashion, and the order was accurate. Price point of their shoes are incredibly affordable, nearly too-good-to-be-true. The shoes from Vinthentic are comfortable, and I'm decently satisfied having worn several pairs regularly across the last few months.

The Bad: Vinthentic is a pure online shop, with the only physical address being a postal box holding company that also represents multiple other companies (said to be around 200,000 businesses), some of which have been reported in the news as scams; this means disputes for orders are likely to go unresolved. There are suspicious spelling errors in the product descriptions on their website. The same 3rd-party sites also rate Vinthentic as untrustworthy, with verified poor customer reviews scoring them lowly. Payment of my 1st order directly via the Vinthentic website was blocked by the banks in Singapore as the website was flagged as a suspected scam. My 1st order was incorrectly sized, being too small. The quality of the shoes I received from my 2nd and 3rd orders are average at best, certainly not to the standard of customised bespoke footwear I expected, with minor defects that are visible on scrutiny, though this is not visible when worn.

My hypothesis (educated guess) about Vinthentic is that they are trying to be a legitimate company, based somewhere in the world that has cheap labour and passable standards at imitating luxury products, trying to reach better quality standards but not quite there yet. Will I buy from Vinthentic again? No. Buyer Beware.
