"Write these things for future generations, so that they will praise the Lord." - Psalm 102:18

A good journal is what you make of it. It can be an electronic document on your computer, or a good old-fashioned written notebook. It can be formal or informal, have long or short entries, or just where you pop in on occasion. It can be a place for recording God’s mercy and favour, to expose the depths of your heart, to write out a prayer, or to dream about the future.
Unlike other spiritual disciplines, Jesus left us no model for journaling; as he did not keep one. But keeping a journal can be greatly beneficial to us. There is always more going on around us, than we can fully appreciate at the moment. Journaling is a way of slowing life down, and trying to process at least a slice of it for the glory of God, our own growth and development, or just our enjoyment of the details.
