Established by Andreas Gebert and Lim Wee Hsien in October 2019 and operated under the Hansens Global Food Group, Wursthans is an all-day casual dining concept specialising in Swiss dishes. Wursthans is known for their use of fresh premium ingredients, and large hearty portions, all served in a casual setting.

Ambience at Wursthans is modern, casual, and welcoming. There is indoor and outdoor seating, both of which offer great views of the bustle around the place, lit by ample natural light. Spacious and neatly arrayed with modern furnishings, it's great to lunch and perch here, watching the world go by. The quirky artwork wall mural lends character.

Service at Wursthans is partially self-service, with ordering and payment online, as well as self-collection of orders. Staff will facilitate payment, and I note they clean up quickly when diners finish, at times proactively offering to do so. The electronic menu is clear, and it's easy to order. No opportunity to observe staff's menu knowledge though.

Food at Wursthans is classic Swiss cuisine. Ingredients are fresh, and dishes are consistently well executed and delicious, except they also tend to be heavily seasoned and greasy. Portions are large and hearty, sized for individuals, though most can be shared. Prices are comparable to other fast casual restaurants, budget about SGD $30 per person.

The Iced Water (SGD $1.50) is nicely refreshing, refillable, and sorely needed, particularly with their dishes that are either greasy or heavily seasoned.

The Iced Elderflower Tea (SGD $1.50 Lunch Set Top-Up) is refreshing, with gentle floral herbal sweet flavour. Not overly sweet too. Worth ordering!

The San Pellegrino Lemonade (SGD $4.50) is bubbly and refreshing, with bright fruity zesty tangy sour sweet flavour. This lemonade 'limonata' is a nice palate cleanser. Good!

The San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa (SGD $4.50) is mellow and refreshing, with deep fruity zesty sweet sour flavour. The blood orange has a nice rounded juicy-ness to it. Good!

The Beer Schöfferhofer Wheat Ale (SGD $10.50) is a wheat ale, brewed by the Binding Brewery in Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany. It has a amber orange colour, with aromas of wheat, caramel, grapefruit, and white rice. The body is rounded, bright, and creamy, with tastes of banana, barley, blood orange, and cloves. Has a fruity earthy sweet sour spice flavour, tingles the palate.

The Original Swiss Veal Bratwurst With Caramelised Onions (SGD $9.90) features a large tender soft juicy veal bratwurst sausage, carrying mild meaty sweet savoury flavour. The soft tender caramelised onions lend a bright vegetal earthy sweet salty flavour, yum. Highly recommended!

The Signature Rosti, Spicy Chicken Sausage, Seasonal Roasted Vegetables, House Sour Cream (SGD $17.90 Lunch Set) feels wholesome. The potato rosti is crisp and fluffy, albeit slightly greasy, with good starchy savoury salty flavour. The spicy chicken sausage is snappy and crunchy, with smoky meaty savoury spicy salty flavour. The roasted vegetables include crunchy cauliflower and broccoli florets, bursting with bright vegetal sweet flavour. Completed with a thick creamy dollop of house sour cream, lending lovely milky sour flavour. Good!

The Appenzeller Jumbo Rosti With Beef Meat Balls & Fried Egg (SGD $20.40) features a base of pan-sized potato rosti, crisp fluffy with good starchy savoury salty flavour, but slightly greasy. The fried egg is soft with eggy sweet savoury flavour. The beef meat balls are tender and juicy, heavily seasoned with robust meaty salty savoury flavour, perhaps a tad too much salt for my liking. This was really heavy on the palate, and I struggled to finish it. Could be improved.

The Pilatus Jumbo Rosti With Boneless Chicken Thigh & Sauté Mushrooms (SGD $21.90) features a base of pan-sized potato rosti, crisp fluffy with good starchy savoury salty flavour, but slightly greasy. The sauté mushrooms (shiitake, button) are tender with vegetal milky earthy salty sweet flavour. The grilled boneless chicken thigh has a crispy skin and tender juicy chicken meat, with lovely smoky meaty savoury sweet flavour. I asked for less salt to be added, so this was just right. Good!

The Edelweiss Sweet Potato Rosti With Vanilla Ice Cream (SGD $7.90) features a small rosti of sweet potato, crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with starchy earthy sweet flavour. Sprinkled with white sugar crystals and topped with creamy vanilla ice cream, lending floral earthy sweet flavour. Overall, this was decent, but seemed to lack the edge to make it memorable. Perhaps a better quality sweet potato or other garnishes may help. Worth ordering!
