Named after Thai founder-owner Ahae who began operating pop-up stalls in Singapore since July 2023, AhAe Taiyaki specialises in taiyaki, that iconic Japanese confectionery / cake / pastry that is shaped like a fish, filled with either sweet or savoury fillings. Was attracted by the brightly lit cute mascot logo of AhAe Taiyaki, featuring a robe-wearing shiba inu dog snacking on taiyaki.

Ambience at AhAe Taiyaki is bustling and busy, with their brightly lit kiosk fronted by the huge signage mentioned. While the baking of the taiyaki is off to the side or back of the stall, the appetizing aroma perfumes the air, drawing in passerby's. The cute and colourful signage helpfully indicates the different variety of flavours, and staff are even dressed-up with adorable fish-shaped headbands. Takeaway only, though the night bazaar has common shared seating areas.

Service at AhAe Taiyaki is friendly and efficient, with staff greeting customers and offering recommendations. Ordering and payment is easy and quick, either digital banking transfer or in cash, with staff packing orders fast. Queue system is orderly with numbered tags, and you can return later to collect your order that's freshly baked. Turnover is high, so there's sometimes a short wait of about 5 to 10 minutes or so, as new batches of taiyaki are prepared and baked.

Food at AhAe Taiyaki is naturally focused on the Japanese confectionery / cake / pastry of taiyaki. The secret is their batter, which is incredibly tasty. For fillings, there's around 9 or 10 different options, good variety. The smell of baking taiyaki wafts through the air, so fragrant. I noticed the portion size is also rather large and hefty, despite being for individuals, and the amount of filling within is generous. Prices are affordable, their taiyaki is priced at SGD $7 for any 3 pieces.
