Located about 30 minutes drive away from the Johor Bahru Senai International Airport in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia, the Amari Johor Bahru hotel is a 5-star luxury hotel that is conveniently located. Offering refined comfort and hospitality, the Amari Johor Bahru hotel is a great base from which to explore the city.

Ambience
Ambience at Amari Johor Bahru hotel is modern and contemporary, drawing inspiration from the Islamic arts and geometric shapes. Warmly lit and spacious, the classy yet peaceful atmosphere feels elegant without being overly formal. The height of the building might have offered a good view, if not for the adjacent hotels and skyscrapers. Location is incredibly convenient too.

Room
Rooms at Amari Johor Bahru hotel are large and comfortable. I stayed at the Executive Club room, which had a large and comfortable bed with good firm pillows, a clean and spacious bathroom with rain shower and bidet, and fast and stable wi-fi to go with the large and ergonomic working desk. The dual-sided wardrobe was sufficient, and laundry service was as expected. I like that housekeeping provided up to 4 bottles of water, and the complimentary mini-bar had a good range of soft drinks.

Food
Food at Amari Johor Bahru hotel is mostly served at the Amaya Food Gallery all-day dining restaurant or the casual Amaya Café. Ambience is bustling and noisy, with the busiest period during breakfast. Service is discreet and efficient, with restaurant staff clearing finished plates promptly. Food is average in standard, although there is a wide range to the menu. Quality is decent at best, and with ample food options within walking distance, you wouldn't miss much here.

Service
Service at Amari Johor Bahru hotel is warm, polite, and discreet, with staff demonstrating good knowledge. The reception is quick to respond to requests, and housekeeping is thorough with good attention to details. The guest concierge is friendly and warm, greeting each guest on their arrival. The lounge staff are engaging and accord each guest personalised attention. Felt genuinely welcome throughout my stay.

Facilities & Activities
The facilities and activities at Amari Johor Bahru hotel are clean and modern. The Gymnasium is spacious with a good variety of exercise machines, and the Swimming Pool has separate areas for children and adults though it was smaller than elsewhere. The Barbecue Pits are a novelty, and the Conference Rooms and Business Centre are well-equipped. The play area with its Pool Table / Snooker Table and Foosball Table are great for families. The Executive Lounge was a great perk, offering a quiet space with refreshments. Overall, I would return to stay at Amari Johor Bahru hotel.

The Amaya Food Gallery is the all-day dining restaurant of the Amari Johor Bahru hotel. However, I personally prefer dining at the quieter Executive Lounge instead. Especially loved the daily soup and crackers.
