Established since October 1996, ZAC Butchery, also known as ZAC Meat & Poultry Pte Ltd, is a halal-certified gourmet butcher specialising in premium cuts of beef, chicken, skewers, and ready-to-eat frozen gourmet meals. Besides standalone retail outlets, ZAC Butchery also partners supermarkets in Singapore, as such, you'll be able to easily find their meat products around.

The packaging may be simple, but ZAC Butchery maintains a high quality for their gourmet meat products. Fresh and convenient to prepare, ZAC Butchery even provides complimentary marinating service upon request. Cuts and portions are generous, making them good value for money as prices will average about SGD $9 per person for a gourmet meal.

Besides gourmet meats, they also have a small range of seafood, vegetables, and herbs, though meat remains their focus. ZAC Butchery has their own range of meat seasoning and marinade products, which allows you to do-it-yourself at home. These include traditional barbecue rub, black pepper, sea salt, pink salt, brown meat gravy, habanero, and even satay gravy. Overall, ZAC Butchery is a good choice for halal gourmet meat products.

The Beef Shepherd's Pie (SGD $6.90) is yummy. From its frozen state, it's ready to eat within 10 - 15 minutes of cooking via oven or microwave. The shredded parmesan cheese forms a crisp crust on top, and breaks gently, having a cheesy salty savoury flavour. The top of the shepherd's pie has creamy fluffy mashed potatoes, with delicate starchy sweet flavour. The generous base of tender minced beef has been marinated in herbs and spices, removing any gamey flavour, resulting in a bold meaty savoury spice salty flavour. Portion size is sufficiently filling for individuals. So delicious. Highly recommended!

The Beef Cabanossi Sausage (SGD $7.20) is a Polish style sausage similar to a mild salami, with a snappy moist dense bouncy bite to texture. The minced beef cabanossi sausage is lightly seasoned with herbs, resulting in a mild meaty savoury salty herbal flavour. Quite light, nice.

The Beef Ribeye Shabu (SGD $6.70 per 100g) features strips of thinly sliced beef, large and flat, perfect for quick cooking when dipped in boiling soup. With a light tender chew and good meaty savoury flavour, the beef holds up well enough when immersed, and doesn't break apart. I had this with a soy soup base, and it was lovely.

The Beef Cubes (SGD $3.50 per 100g) are chunky in cut, great for making casseroles, steak bites, kebab skewers, stir-frys, or tapas. Had these seasoned with lemon salt and quick grilled to medium rare. Love the tender juicy bite to texture, and the bold meaty smoky savoury salty flavour. Yum.

The ZAC Butchery Original Beef Patty (SGD $4.20 per piece) has a large, tightly packed minced beef patty, mixed with some herbs. When grilled, it has a lovely tender chew to texture, with a juicy bite that bursts with meaty savoury flavour. Beyond the basic seasoning of salt and pepper, it's tastier with a bit of paprika and garlic.

The Beef Lasagna (SGD $7.50) is super filling, with a good balance of cream to tomato sauce, taming the overall richness. Layered with soft lasagna pasta noodle sheets, a base of tender minced beef, and a blanket of gooey melted cheese, this dish has a pleasant blend of milky vegetal sweet meaty savoury cheesy salty flavours. Good!
