Established in October 2015 by the Viet Deli Group, their 'Home' concept of restaurants, which includes Home Hanoi Restaurant, serves authentic Vietnamese regional dishes, featuring fresh ingredients and traditional recipes presented in modern contemporary fashion, with exquisite service in locales that feature quaint refined charming ambience. The Home Hanoi Restaurant re-opened in January 2023 after relocating into a restored 4-story grand French villa with private courtyard, and has sharpened their focus to offer diners a true slice of local Vietnamese fare.
Ambience at Home Hanoi Restaurant exudes a quiet and refined elegance. The vibrant yet sophisticated yellow-walled French style villa features a welcoming walkway framed with a green arch, opening into a private courtyard lit by ample natural light and ornate lanterns. Within, the sturdy furnishings are laid with elegant silverware, graced with larger-than-life vintage photos on the wall, warmly lit and cozy. A faux fireplace decorated with Vietnamese art acts as the centrepiece for the dining hall, while the private room is discretely tucked to the side.
Service at Home Hanoi Restaurant is professional and courteous. Staff welcome guests at the walkway, and accompany them to their seating area of choice, ushering them with grace. They patiently describe the ala-carte buffet concept, and introduce dishes as they serve. I note staff are relatively young but well educated, nearly all being able to converse decently in English. They proactively offer to refresh drinks, and clear away finished plates, cleaning up quickly. Had a fantastic dining experience, my thanks to Huy, Thuong, and Huyen, for the great service!
Food at Home Hanoi Restaurant is traditional, authentic Vietnamese cuisine, presented in modern contemporary fashion. This allows diners, particularly tourists, to sample a wide range of local dishes, through their ala-carte buffet for both lunch and dinner (you can order an unlimited number of dishes for only 1 price). Portions are sized according to number of diners. Prices are steep, thanks to the high quality of food, premium ingredients, sophisticated ambience, and friendly service. Budget about VND ₫912,000 / SGD $52 per person. I also decided to tip the staff, though it's not required.

The Cocktail Ancient Town By Night (VND ₫155,000) features a blend of vodka, red guava juice, pear juice, sugar syrup, lime juice, and Vietnamese basil leaves. Garnished with lemon zest, this beverage is light and refreshing, with bright fruity floral herbal sweet zesty sour boozy flavour, living up to its name with a lively vibrant feel. Good!

The Cocktail Spicy Tamarind (VND ₫155,000) features a blend of dark rum, tamarind juice, lime juice, sugar syrup, and tabasco sauce. It tastes exactly as it sounds, thick and viscous with boldly sour zesty tangy spicy sweet boozy flavour, the garnish of crushed peanuts lending a nutty crunch. Really strong and intense, a warrior's drink that puts fire in the belly. Couldn't quite drink all of it.

The all-you-can-eat ala-carte buffet at Home Hanoi Restaurant is priced at VND ₫409,000+ / SGD $23+ per person (before government tax), with the menu featuring an extensive 41 dishes drawn from regional specialities all across Vietnam. Pacing is recommended, and because you can place unlimited orders, it's best to start slow, with just a few dishes (to prevent wastage), then order again when you're done. You'll probably need to dine here several times to sample everything, and I certainly hope to revisit Home Hanoi Restaurant again.
The Cháo Tôm Càng Miền Tây / Mekong Langoustine Congee features a vibrant rice porridge, medium thin in texture with flecks of tender Mekong langoustine and crisp coriander. It's very light and easy to eat, with mild herbal vegetal grainy sweet flavour. Some may prefer stronger seasoning, which you can request for. I would have liked bigger chunks of the langoustine though. Could be improved.

Loved the Súp Gà Xé Ngô Non / Shredded Chicken And Corn Soup, which has a thick broth, almost like a stew, garnished with juicy corn kernels, tender shredded chicken, springy sliced shiitake mushrooms, and crisp coriander. This carries lovely savoury earthy salty sweet flavour, warm and comforting. Highly recommended!

The Tôm Rang Me / Stir-Fried Prawns With Tamarind Sauce has large shell-on tiger prawns, juicy crunchy succulent, stir-fried with crunchy leeks, crisp spring onions, basil leaves, tamarind juice, and chili. Coming clean out of the shells, the prawns pick up the sharp tangy zesty sour savoury spicy gravy well, tingling the palate with each bite. Good!

Served in a metal pot kept warm with petroleum jelly, alongside a heaping plate of herbs, the Lẩu Gà Lá Giang / Herbal Chicken Hot Pot is large enough for 2 to 4 people. The herbs include the signature aganonerion polymorphum / la giang / giang river leaves, ginger, lemongrass, and banana flowers; while the mix of vegetables may include a variety such as red onions, king oyster mushrooms, spring onions, or coriander. These are stewed alongside bone-in chicken chunks, until everything is tender. Has surprising sharp vegetal sour salty earthy sweet flavour, soulful and fortifying. The dish is accompanied by a variety of sauces. Good!

While the Miến Xào Hải Sản / Stir-Fried Seafood Vermicelli Noodles is typically prepared with deshelled mud crab, apparently crab wasn't available during my visit, so chef served my order with squid and deshelled prawns instead. The seafood was bouncy and fresh, with succulent sweet savoury flavour. Accompanied with crunchy bok choy / Chinese cabbage and crisp napa cabbage, both with natural vegetal sweet flavour. The long slippery smooth glass vermicelli noodles soak up the gravy well, lifting the salty savoury herbal earthy sweet flavours. Good!

The Thạch Cà Phê Sữa Dừa / Coffee And Coconut Jelly is delightfully light, with the coffee jelly layered with the coconut jelly. Resembling a panna cotta with wobbly gelatinous soft texture, this dessert carried pleasant toasty earthy floral sweet flavour. Great end to a meal. Highly recommended!
