Founded in April 2014 in San Diego, California, United States Of America, Sand Cloud began as a beach towel company, but has since expanded into a beach and home lifestyle brand with a decent product line. Sand Cloud founders Brandon Leibel, Steven Ford, and Bruno Aschidamini, still maintain their core sustainability purpose of donating a percentage of their net profits (10% currently) to various marine conservation charities, furthering efforts to #SaveTheFishies.

Sand Cloud was elevated into the mainstream with their appearance on the Shark Tank business reality television show in February 2017, where the 3 founders won a USD $200,000 investment from Robert Herjavec (thanks to their sustainability purpose and great products). Sand Cloud is renowned for their beautifully vibrant, quick drying, sand resistant, oversized towels, that fold up neatly for storage.

The towels from Sand Cloud are made with 100% organic Turkish cotton, woven with long fibres, making it rather durable, while being smooth and soft. The use of organic Turkish cotton also means the towel becomes softer and more absorbent with every wash. Each Sand Cloud towel features a double-sided weaving, one side is flat woven which enables the towel to resist sand and dirt, the other side is looped terry woven which enables greater absorbency of water. The unique weaving also means Sand Cloud towels stack thinner in height than regular towels, despite their oversized length and width.

Overall, I love the Sand Cloud towels I've purchased, for their efficient quick drying functionality, their soft and warm feel when wrapped around, and their resistance to particles (making it easier to clean). The towels can also double as blankets in a pinch. Sand Cloud regularly releases new designs, and I love their colourful vibrancy and gentle recollection of marine life conservation. Ordering and payment through the Sand Cloud website is easy and quick, with delivery into Singapore taking about 2 weeks.
