Founded in January 2010 by husband and wife team of Brad and Sarah Pearsall, Broo Shampoo produces and retails a unique range of haircare shampoos and conditioners, whose main ingredients include barley, hops, water, and yeast. Yes, Broo Shampoo makes craft beer shampoo. And they make it using clean ingredients, without chemicals, to meet the high standards in the natural marketplace.

By using craft beer in their shampoos and conditioners, the naturally resulting vitamins B and protein aid hair to become strong and glossy. Broo Shampoo products are vegan, sulphate-free, silicone-free, animal cruelty-free, and pH balanced, with natural scents such as peppermint, lemon, or vanilla. There are currently 4 versions of shampoo and conditioner from Broo Shampoo, including Invigorating (green packaging), Moisturizing (blue packaging), Thickening (yellow packaging), and Colour Crazed (rainbow packaging).

Broo Shampoo contains many natural ingredients which enhance daily haircare. The B vitamins and protein from Craft Beer forms a protective, moisturizing layer on hair to make it smooth and shiny. Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, extracted from aloe vera plants, is an amazing moisturizer and emollient, having historically been used to reduce inflammation. Caffeine is a powerful antioxidant, which penetrates hair follicles to strengthen the hair roots. Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, extracted from olives, helps to condition and soften hair. Cocamidopropyl Betaine, derived from coconut oil, is a foaming agent which cleans hair gently without drying it out.

Have personally been using Broo Shampoo these last few months. I find it cleanses and strengthens my hair gently, and while not completely moisturising, the shampoo doesn't cause dry hair. No beer smell in the hair, plus it feels so refreshing on the scalp. Slight frizzy soft feel after washing off though. I understand it also helps to protect hair colours as well. Prices for Broo Shampoo are affordable, costing around SGD $20 per squeeze tube, and it can last around 3 - 6 months depending on usage.
