Established in April 2018 by co-founders Gerald Tan, Anson Lim, and Ben Leu, Yummy Bros offers healthy and yummy meals for those who live an active lifestyle. As a ready-to-eat meal preparation delivery company, Yummy Bros specialises in reinvented Asian dishes that are heathier, nutritionally transparent, affordable, and tasty.
The individually-sized meal portions from Yummy Bros are balanced and wholesome, also catering to specific diets such as low carbohydrates or vegetarian. Prepared in-house with the freshest ingredients, the meals from Yummy Bros are exactly portioned for individuals, and good enough to be enjoyed on a daily basis. Yummy Bros is not directly halal-certified, but all their meals are prepared in a partner's halal-certified central kitchen.
Note that Yummy Bros is not like other food delivery services, which deliver meals-on-demand. The service and delivery concept at Yummy Bros operates on a thrice-a-week basis - what this means is their delivery service only delivers in bulk up to 3 times a week, encouraging a lifestyle of planning at least 2 days worth of meals in advance. By planning ahead for meals, customers will have a healthier diet. It's also environmentally friendly, with less packaging (being delivered in bulk) and less carbon footprint through minimal use of vehicles.
Yummy Bros blast-chills its freshly cooked meals, ensuring all meals retain its nutrition, taste, and texture. These frozen, ready-to-eat meals are then delivered to you, and can be safely stored in the refrigerator freezer for up to 7 days. Preparing a Yummy Bros meal is convenient, simply defrost in the refrigerator chiller for at least 12 hours, then microwave it on medium high heat for about 3 - 5 minutes. Note that a minimum of 5 meals are recommended to place an order with Yummy Bros.
Compared to other ready-to-eat meal preparation delivery companies, Yummy Bros wins on taste, portion size, affordable pricing, and presentation of their dishes. There's a wide variety of dishes, possibly the most compared to other similar companies, but no rotation of menu, though new dishes are introduced periodically. However, their dishes tend to be more full flavoured. Overall, I enjoyed the meals from Yummy Bros, and have since ordered several times.

The Yummy Fish Congee (SGD $5) is a gentle, nutritious start to the day. The thick and gloopy stew of Japanese short grain white rice congee is seasoned with sesame oil, salt, ginger, and spring onions, resulting in a lovely grainy sweet salty nutty spice flavour. Garnished with medium sized chunks of tender toman / giant snakehead fish slices, which have a delicate sweet savoury flavour. Lovely and satisfying. Highly recommended!

The Yummy Chicken Congee (SGD $4.50) is a yummy start to the day. The thick and gloopy stew of Japanese short grain white rice congee is seasoned with sesame oil, salt, ginger, and spring onions, resulting in a lovely grainy sweet salty nutty spice flavour. Garnished with a generous portion of chewy minced chicken thigh with savoury sweet flavour. I added an egg, which made the congee silky smooth with a layer of eggy sweet flavour. A dash of cracked black pepper completes with some peppery spice notes. Highly recommended!

The Yummy Winter Melon Soup (SGD $4.50) is a filling bowl of warm soup / broth. While the texture is thin, the soup / broth holds robust vegetal sweet savoury salty flavour, perhaps a tad strong on salty. Garnished with chunks of soft winter melon with earthy sweet flavour, and a generous portion of chewy minced chicken thigh with savoury sweet flavour. Said to aid immunity and improve digestion, this is pure comfort on rainy days. Good!

Fragant with the aroma of pumpkin, the thick creamy soup / broth has bright earthy sweet salty flavour, perhaps a tad strong on salty. Garnished with a dash of parsley, and a generous portion of chewy minced chicken thigh with savoury sweet flavour. A vitamin and protein packed meal. Good!

The Yummy Veggie Curry (SGD $6.90) is a fully vegetarian dish. What I like most is the thick and delicious curry, with sharp savoury sweet spicy flavour. It paired beautifully with the fluffy mixed brown and red rice with grainy earthy sweet flavour, and the crunchy broccoli florets with vegetal sweet flavour. The medley of vegetables in the curry (long beans, lady's finger / okra, brinjal / eggplant / aubergine, cabbage) had all been stewed till soft, picking up the notes of the curry well. Didn't even miss having meat in this meal. Highly recommended!

The Zesty Fish (SGD $10.40) is inspired by sandefjordsmør, a popular Norwegian sauce. The base of fluffy Japanese short grain white rice has grainy sweet flavour, while the crunchy baby corn has bright vegetal earthy sweet flavour. The medium sized chunks of soft dory fish fillet have a natural milky sweet flavour. Dressed in a rich butter, cream, lemon juice, and grated parsley sauce that lends bright, sharp zesty tangy sour sweet herbal flavour. Really refreshing. Highly recommended!

The medium sized chunks of soft dory fish fillet have a natural milky sweet flavour. Dressed with a thick house made sambal chili paste that excites with its sharp spicy savoury sweet flavour. Shiok. It features a base of fluffy mixed brown and red rice with grainy earthy sweet flavour, topped with tender chunks of carrots with vegetal sweet earthy flavour. The medium sized chunks of firm toman / giant snakehead fish slices have a natural sweet savoury flavour, and are rather lean. Dressed with sprinkling of bird's eye chili seasoned with Thai fish sauce, brown sugar, and lime juice, resulting in a bright sweet savoury salty sour spicy flavour. Rather addictive, but do watch out for small bones. Good!

The base of fluffy Japanese short grain white rice has grainy sweet flavour, while the tender sambal spiced eggplant / aubergine / brinjal has sharp earthy sweet spicy flavour. The medium sized chunks of firm toman / giant snakehead fish slices have a natural sweet savoury flavour, and are rather lean. Dressed with fragrant crushed ginger and sesame oil, resulting in a lovely sweet savoury nutty herbal spice flavour. Piquant and tasty, but do watch out for small bones. Good!

The Yummy Beef (SGD $10.40) is a reinvented zi char dish. The sliced beef shanks are stir-fried with leeks, red onions, ginger, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, brown sugar, corn starch, and red chili, resulting in a tender chew to texture, with robust meaty savoury salty spice flavour. Has a pleasant lingering meaty taste. This dish is among their bestsellers. Highly recommended!

The minced beef is heavily seasoned with black pepper, along with dark soy sauce, brown sugar, and oyster sauce, resulting in a robust meaty savoury salty peppery spice flavour. Sharp fiery kick that fades quickly, yet entices the palate to dig in for more. Good!

The Spicy Chicken Lemak (SGD $9.50) aspires to be a healthy version of Ayam Lemak Cili Padi. The fluffy Japanese short grain white rice has grainy sweet flavour, while the tender shiitake mushrooms have delicate earthy sweet flavour. The curry gravy is rather thin, and while it holds good sweet spice flavour, I felt it could have been more spicy on the palate. The medium sized chunks of boneless chicken breast are rather firm and chewy in texture, a little dry towards the center, but have decent sweet savoury flavour. Doesn't pick up the gravy well though. Could be improved.

The grainy clumps of stir-fried cauliflower 'rice' was healthy with a delicate vegetal sweet flavour, while the crunchy broccoli florets hold vegetal sweet flavour. The teriyaki gravy is rather thin, and while it holds good sweet savoury flavour, I felt it could have been thicker and more rich. The medium sized chunks of boneless chicken breast are rather firm and chewy in texture, a little dry towards the center, but have decent sweet savoury flavour. Generally underwhelming. Could be improved.

The Yummy Herbal Chicken (SGD $10.30) was delicious. It features a base of fluffy mixed brown and red rice with grainy earthy sweet flavour, topped with crunchy broccoli florets that hold vegetal sweet flavour. The rich herbal gravy, aromatic with chicken broth, water, salt, dang gui / angelica root, red dates, wolfberries / goji berries, chuan xiong / lovage rhizome, yu zhu / solomon seal rhizome, has a lovely earthy herbal bitter sweet flavour that is soulful and comforting. The medium sized chunks of boneless chicken thigh are tender with good sweet savoury flavour, picking up the gravy well. Highly recommended!

Despite its plain and unassuming looks, the Yummy Basil (SGD $10.50) is actually pretty tasty. The grainy clumps of stir-fried cauliflower 'rice' was healthy with a delicate vegetal sweet flavour, while the tender shiitake mushrooms have delicate earthy sweet flavour. The minced chicken is so aromatic from the seasoning of basil leaves, brown sugar, light soy sauce, Thai fish sauce, garlic, and olive oil, resulting in a robust savoury sweet herbal earthy salty flavour. The fragrance is lovely. Worth ordering!

Customised the Yummy Kopi Chicken (SGD $12) such that it was unique. Got an unusual base of chewy fusilli pasta noodles tossed in light soy sauce and dark soy sauce, resulting in bold earthy salty savoury flavour. Topped with crunchy broccoli florets that hold vegetal sweet flavour, and tender sambal spiced eggplant / aubergine / brinjal has sharp earthy sweet spicy flavour. The coffee-coated medium sized chunks of boneless chicken breast are rather firm and chewy in texture, a little dry towards the center, oily on the outside, but have decent toasty savoury sweet earthy flavour. Didn't quite appeal to me. Could be improved.
