Touted as the best gaming chair in the world and held up as the gold-standard of ergonomic comfort for gamers, I've had my eye on the Secretlab TITAN 2020 Overwatch Gaming Chair for awhile, but never saw the need to purchase it... not until the circuit breaker period was implemented in Singapore as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced most people to work from home. While my role still required me to go into the office on occasion, I generally spent most days working from home, and my previous chair wasn't ergonomic enough to support long hours of sitting for work or play.

So I got the Secretlab TITAN 2020 Overwatch Gaming Chair (SGD $579), that despite its name, was actually launched in May 2019. Upholstered in PRIME 2.0 polyurethane leather, which is engineered and tested to be 4 times more durable than regular polyurethane leather, this improved upholstery greatly exceeds the industry standard for flexing and abrasion resistance, allowing the chair's surfaces to withstand perspiration, humidity, friction, and light scratches. The firm yet soft but thick padding of the patent-pending cold cure foam seat supports up to 130kg comfortably for endless hours, while the deep and wide but levelled seat base allows one to sit cross legged.

Clad in the same materials, the Secretlab TITAN 2020 Overwatch Gaming Chair has a comfortable full-length backrest that reaches past the top of my head (when seated), and extends just past shoulder-width, providing ample mid and upper back support. However, while the built-in adjustable lumbar support provides adequate customisable lower back support, this isn't as comfortable as sticking a cushion back there. The 4-directional steel armrests allows movement in 8 directions (left, right, angled left, angled right, forwards, backwards, up, down) to provide superb arm, elbow, and wrist support; while the concave polyurethane leather coating around the armrests allows for durability, comfort, and prevents slippage of your arms.

The Secretlab TITAN 2020 Overwatch Gaming Chair is equipped with a class 4 hydraulic gas piston, and coupled with the multi-functional tilt mechanism, allows for a near full recline of up to 165 degrees, enabling you to lie down completely strain-free while enjoying the ergonomic support of the chair. This still requires a neck pillow for support, which fortunately, is supplied. If you're reclining for long periods, you'll also need to find a way to prop your legs up for comfort. The aluminum wheelbase is constructed to be strong, level, and stable, reinforced with 5 ribs and gussets ending off in 5 caster wheels, enabling the chair to roll around smoothly without tilting over. However, while durable, the steel frame of the Secretlab TITAN 2020 Overwatch Gaming Chair makes this much heavier than other chairs, so moving it between different levels of a building is challenging.

I had to assemble the Secretlab TITAN 2020 Overwatch Gaming Chair when it was delivered (2 weeks after placing my order), which was easily completed in 20 minutes with the help of the provided toolkit and clear instructions (as well as the assembly instruction video). Caring for the chair is easy, it just needs to be wiped with a damp cloth. The tie-up design with Overwatch has the iconic logo and words positioned prominently on the chair, while the basic black colour is offset by orange gradient accents. Overall, I look forward to enjoying the comfortable and ergonomic Secretlab TITAN 2020 Overwatch Gaming Chair for several years to come.
