Opening in December 2020 as the in-house all-day dining restaurant of the Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore hotel, the Greenhouse Restaurant is a lush forest-themed restaurant offering picturesque views of the Laguna National Golf Resort Master's Course, serving an extensive multi-ethnic international buffet range via 5 show kitchens. We celebrated a birthday at Greenhouse Restaurant, and enjoyed the overall dining experience.

Ambience at Greenhouse Restaurant is styled to resemble a lush temperate forest, with a look and feel that calls to mind the Gardens By The Bay Cloud Forest Dome. Greenery abounds within, and seating features 2 distinctive areas - a warmly lit semi-private dining area where you're surrounded by plants, and an open curved dome area brightly lit by natural sunlight and offering views of the golf course. Oriental woven lamp shades, comfortable cushioned booth seats, and modern wooden tables complete the space.

Service at Greenhouse Restaurant is attentive and efficient. Staff hover around assigned spaces, quickly and proactively offering to clear finished plates, or refresh water glasses, throughout the meal. Requests are promptly fulfilled, and staff possess sufficient product knowledge to guide and advise diners on protocol and available dishes. Billing is performed tableside. Advance reservations are recommended if you're planning to visit.

Food at Greenhouse Restaurant is International, served by 5 show kitchens, specialising in Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Thai, and Italian Mediterranean. While they offer ala-carte dining, the highlight is the extensive buffet, with dishes executed to exquisite perfection - most dishes we had were at least above average. Portions are all-you-can-eat. Thai cuisine is their primary speciality, with every 3rd Sunday of the month offering a Thai-focused buffet spread. Prices are reasonable, slightly cheaper than elsewhere, budget about SGD $75 per person.

From the Selection Of Fresh Seafood & Salad, I enjoyed the succulent juicy oysters with briny sweet salty flavour, the fresh snow crab legs with lovely sweet savoury flavour, the bouncy green lip mussels with sweet savoury flavour, and the springy white clams with savoury sweet flavour. The fresh mesclun salad was crisp with sharp vegetal herbal bitter earthy sweet flavour, and the tender potato salad was chunky with starchy milky sweet savoury flavour.

From the Selection Of Japanese, I enjoyed the succulent tender smooth cuts of sashimi (salmon fish loin, tuna fish loin, and swordfish loin) with lovely sweet savoury flavour, so clean-tasting. Enhanced with a bit of premium soy sauce for added salty earthy savoury kick. The chuka wakame / sesame marinated seaweed was delightfully crunchy with bright vegetal earthy salty nutty sweet flavour.

From the Selection Of Chinese, I enjoyed the wok-fried tenderloin beef cubes with barbecue sauce, tender juicy chewy in texture with robust meaty savoury salty peppery spice sweet flavour. The braised garoupa fish belly with bean curd skin is nicely moist flaky tender in texture, with pleasant savoury sweet herbal salty grainy flavour, yum. Also loved the crisp crunchy vegetable spring rolls, crackling gently to release vegetal sweet savoury salty flavour.

From the Selection Of Indian, I enjoyed the murgh tikka / chicken tikka, tender chewy moist in texture with bright meaty spice savoury sweet flavour. The tandoori cauliflower was pleasantly crunchy with vegetal salty spice sweet flavour, while the fluffy butter naan with its bready buttery sweet savoury flavour, complemented the rich vegetal spice savoury earthy sweet flavours of the chunky dhal tadka / yellow dhal.

From the Selection Of Rotisserie & Breads, I enjoyed the succulent juicy tender angus roast beef steak, roasted to a perfect medium-rare doneness, carrying beautiful smoky meaty savoury flavour. The chunky chewy snail sausage with its meaty herbal salty savoury flavour was nice, while the tender juicy roasted onion and zucchini was smoky vegetal sweet in taste. The crispy grissini / bread sticks held bready nutty sweet flavour, and I loved the luscious salted butter with its creamy texture and rich buttery savoury salty sweet flavour.

From the Selection Of Thai, I enjoyed the red tom yum soup, as the broth was rich and semi-thick with sharp sour spicy herbal salty sweet savoury flavour, filled with a generous portion of tender oyster mushrooms and juicy shell-on prawns, both of which picked up the flavours of the broth. The green curry prawns were excellent, with the thick creamy texture and bright earthy herbal sweet savoury flavour of the green curry, the crunchy deshelled prawns and tender cauliflower also absorbing the notes of the curry. The red curry chicken had chunks of tender boneless chicken immersed within the red curry, thick with spicy savoury salty herbal flavour, and I added an egg for body and its eggy sweet flavour to complement.

From the Selection Of Desserts, I enjoyed the mango sticky rice, with the creamy coconut milk and juicy mango chunks over the sticky pandan / screwpine leaf infused glutinous rice, holding bright fruity milky earthy floral sweet flavour. The wobbly soft crème caramel was light, with the juicy seasonal fruits (blackberry, strawberry) and thick caramel sauce lending a fruity floral earthy sweet flavour. The soft creamy cheesecake held bright cheesy salty sweet flavour, and the crumbly creamy soft green milk tea tart had bright milky herbal earthy sweet grainy flavour. Also loved the soft orange cake with its bright fruity zesty sour sweet flavour.

From the Selection Of Crispy, I enjoyed everything as it was all satisfyingly crispy and well executed. This included the Italian Mediterranean sesame lavash, the Chinese prawn crackers, and the Indian papadum.
