Opened in January 2024, Hey Kee HK Seafood is a casual zi char eatery specialising in Hong Kong style zi char dishes. That itself is unique differentiator, as Hey Kee HK Seafood offers zi char dishes which you're unlikely to find elsewhere. We enjoyed both our dining experiences here, and will return to Hey Kee HK Seafood for more.
Ambience at Hey Kee HK Seafood is casual, with the brightly lit space boasting decently comfortable furnishings both indoors and outdoors. The decor is immersive, transporting you to the bustling streets of Hong Kong, with curated spaces such as a barbershop and bus stop. Large tanks with live seafood attract attention, and the place attracts a good crowd during meal times. Advance reservations are recommended!
Service at Hey Kee HK Seafood is helpful, with staff patiently explaining the menu and showing good product knowledge. They seat guests quickly, and accord each table good attention in their interactions. Staff introduce dishes as they serve, and also offer to clear finished plates proactively, I note they clean up efficiently when diners leave. The kitchen also prepares and serves orders fast.
Food at Hey Kee HK Seafood is Chinese cuisine, focused on Hong Kong style zi char dishes. Each dish has good wok hei / breath of the wok, and is freshly cooked to order. Ingredients, particularly seafood, are fresh and premium, good. Portions are sized for group communal sharing. Prices are reasonable for a casual restaurant, budget about SGD $50 per person.

The Pan-Fried Black Angus Beef Cubes With Potatoes (SGD $36.80) is served sizzling on a hot plate, the tender chewy cubes of black angus beef, crisp red onions, and tender cubes of potatoes, all glazed in a thick black pepper gravy. The result is bold meaty savoury salty starchy spice peppery flavour, nicely addictive. The marinade has really tenderised the beef cubes, so satisfying. Highly recommended!

The Temple Street Crispy Roast Chicken (SGD $22.80 / $39.80) is a house signature dish, but it was generally alright. What we liked is the tender firm chicken meat that pulls easily off the bone, and together with the fragile crispy skin, carries meaty salty savoury flavour. However, the texture alternated between moist and dry. Could be improved.

Absolutely loved the Steamed Live Clams With Minced Garlic (SGD $25). A total of 7 large live clams, plump and juicy in texture, are garnished with light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, minced garlic, spring onions, and served on a bed of clear cellophane noodles. The result is enticing sweet salty savoury herbal spice flavour, so delicious. We returned just for this. Highly recommended!

The Hey Kee Egg Fried Rice (SGD $8.80 / $18.80) is a simple and decent egg fried rice, though not particularly spectacular. There's more fluffy egg than soft fried rice, with some crisp spring onions sprinkled over. Carries eggy sweet savoury grainy flavour. Alright at best.
