Description:
The Burger is a Singaporean American dish that consists of a variety of meat, vegetables, and other ingredients, dressed with condiments, between 2 buns. Also known as Hamburger, or Cheeseburger, the Burger is usually priced around SGD $4 - $30 per serving. The name of the Burger is usually derived, either from its primary ingredients, an iconic location, a famous real or fictional person or character, or from popular culture. The Burger is a popular choice of meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
A Burger always features at least 2 buns (or more), never using regular sliced bread or toasted bread, unlike sandwiches (of which Burgers are a subset). The Burger buns are almost always wheat flour buns, though brioche buns, muffins, potato buns, and charcoal buns are common as well, carrying bready sweet savoury flavour with a soft fluffy texture. They may or may not be toasted. Most buns are usually studded with either white or black sesame seeds, lending a crunch to texture with a gentle nutty earthy flavour.
The fillings for a Burger vary widely. The most common ingredients include some combination of the following; tender minced beef patty with smoky meaty savoury salty flavour, tender boneless chicken breast or thigh with smoky meaty sweet savoury flavour, tender fish patty (Alaskan pollock, salmon, tuna, cod, halibut, dory) with sweet savoury flavour, juicy seafood patty (shrimp / prawns, crab) with sweet savoury briny salty flavour, crisp lettuce with vegetal sweet flavour, juicy tomato with vegetal sweet flavour, bouncy grilled mushrooms (portobello, button, shiitake), crisp fresh red onions with vegetal spice sour sweet flavour, tender caramelised white onions with vegetal sweet salty flavour, soft American cheese or cheddar cheese with cheesy milky salty flavour, soft fried chicken egg with eggy sweet savoury flavour, creamy mayonnaise with milky sweet flavour, thick barbecue sauce with smoky sour savoury sweet flavour, smooth tomato ketchup with vegetal sweet sour flavour, or thick mustard with sour savoury spice flavour. There are hundreds of possible combinations of ingredients for a Burger.
Opinions differ on how to define a well-built Burger. Some claim that it has to be messy, with ingredients and condiments falling out as you eat, while others claim that it should hold nicely together whilst eating. There should be a balanced ratio of ingredients and condiments, with the best Burgers offering a combination of flavours and textures. The Burger should also be sufficiently tall and wide, and visually appealing.

Founded in September 2019 by Lee Syafiq, this Muslim-owned burger joint serves up delicious minced beef smash burgers, epitomised by their signature Ashes Cheese Burger.
Sandwiched between fluffy soft charcoal infused burger buns with bready earthy savoury flavour, is a bed of crisp lettuce with vegetal sweet flavour. Stacked with dual minced beef smashed patties which are juicy tender with meaty savoury salty flavour.
Layered with gooey melted cheddar cheese and the creamy house sauce for added cheesy salty spice flavour, slight kick of heat. Incredibly messy yet satisfying.

Has bready sweet vegetal sour zesty tangy cheesy salty meaty savoury smoky flavour, yum.
The Double Mushroom Swiss Croissan'wich With Egg & Chicken Sausage (SGD $9.70) is a satisfying breakfast burger. The Burgatory 2.0 (SGD $22) burger is aptly named. Between fluffy sesame seed wheat burger buns is stacked juicy tender grilled minced beef patty, crunchy jalapenos, gooey melted cheddar cheese, chunky beef chili con carne gravy, bouncy sauteéd button mushrooms, and crisp red onions. Garnished with 2 whole bird's eye red chilies, arrayed like horns. Carries bold bready nutty sweet smoky meaty savoury vegetal sour earthy cheesy salty spicy flavour, the fiery heat building and lingering on the palate. Hot.
The Ono Ono (SGD $25) burger has fluffy sesame seed wheat burger buns stacked with juicy tender grilled chorizo pork sausage patty, juicy grilled pineapple, gooey melted Swiss cheese, crunchy coleslaw (carrot, purple cabbage), crispy pork bacon rashers, and creamy honey mustard sauce. The classic Cheese Burger With Add-Ons (SGD $21) feature fluffy sesame seed burger buns, dual juicy tender fresh minced beef patties, and gooey melted American cheese.
Add-ons of your choice are complimentary, here, I opted for crisp lettuce, crunchy dill pickles, juicy tomato, creamy mayonnaise, thick barbecue sauce, rich tomato ketchup, and crisp red onions.
Carries bready nutty sweet meaty salty savoury vegetal sour tangy zesty cheesy smoky milky flavours. It's greasy, messy, decadent, and oh so satisfying, a comfort meal that ticks all the boxes.

The DCB (SGD $24.60), or 'Double Cheese Burger' has fluffy brioche burger buns, dual tender juicy 110g minced beef patties, crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, gooey melted cheddar cheese, crisp white onions, crunchy dill pickles, and a creamy secret house sauce. Messy with big bready sweet meaty savoury cheesy salty vegetal sour tangy earthy flavour.
