Opened in May 2018 by Chef Marco Guccio, a Milan born chef with culinary roots in Sicily and Calabria, Guccio Ristorante is an Italian fine dining restaurant that draws on authentic family recipes to serve delicious ingredient-focused plates in an impeccable setting. Dining at Guccio Ristorante feels like an elegant yet welcoming experience, marked by refined ambience, attentive service, and consistently excellent Italian food.

Ambience at Guccio Ristorante strikes a balance between modern sophistication and cozy intimacy. Decor is subtle and classy, with a distinctly Italian flair, calling to mind seaside cottages. Furnishings are spacious and comfortable, with tables set neatly. There's subtle use of lights, bright but not harsh. The atmosphere can be buzzing and lively when crowded, with manageable ambient noise.

Service at Guccio Ristorante is attentive and thoughtful. Staff warmly greet guests, and demonstrate good product knowledge as they describe the menu. They maintain a professionally warm demeanour, striking a balance between formality and friendliness. I note they proactively offer to top up drinks, and clear finished plates quickly throughout the meal. The kitchen fulfils orders quickly too.

Food at Guccio Ristorante is Italian nouvelle cuisine, each dish crafted to highlight a specific ingredient, all of which were executed with precision and flair, made according to traditional family recipes of Chef Marco Guccio. Curated menus feature seasonal produce, yet the consistency in quality of execution remains. Portions are sized for individuals. Prices reflect the fine dining status, budget about SGD $100 per person.

The Beer Peroni Nastro Azzurro (SGD $12) is a straw golden coloured pale Roman lager, whose name means 'Blue Ribbon' in Italian. Poured with a dense white foam head, this beer is known internationally for its young, sparkling, very light body; somewhat odd aroma of grains, skunk, and lemon; taste of crackers, corn, and bread. A really light European beer, refreshing and great for summer days!

The Wine Terre Gaie 2024 Claris Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie DOC (SGD $16) is a white wine made using 100% Pinot Grigio white grapes, by the Terre Gaie winery in Vò, Padua, Veneto, Italy. It has a pale green yellow colour, with aromas of chamomile flowers, lime zest, green apple, and slate. The body is crisp, dry, and lively, with tastes of pear, honeydew melon, iron, and rosemary. Has a fruity zesty sour tangy earthy bitter sweet mineral flavour, with a clean and delicate finish.

It has a ruby red colour, with aromas of red cherry, pomegranate, leather, and cloves. The body is fresh, smooth, and refined, with tastes of blackberries, fennel, limestone, and strawberries. Has a fruity earthy sweet spice flavour, with a long and elegant finish.

Featuring flaky deshelled crab meat, springy octopus, crunchy deshelled prawns, and bouncy calamari squid, tossed with silky linguine pasta noodles, in a thin sauce of white wine and tomatoes, finished with fresh basil and oregano. Each bite is a delightful burst of vegetal sour grainy sweet savoury herbal flavour, yum. Love that the pasta has an al-dente bite to it. Highly recommended!

Rich and thick, the pesto sauce of crushed basil leaves clings well to the smooth al-dente fusilli pasta noodles. Garnished with juicy diced tomatoes and wispy grated parmesan cheese, this carries bright vegetal herbal earthy sweet grainy flavour. Suitable for vegetarians, and rather filling. Good!

Nicely refreshing, this has fruity sweet sour zesty milky flavour. A pretty, off-menu dessert here. Highly recommended!

The Tiramisu (SGD $20) features soft ladyfinger biscuits / savoiardi / sponge finger biscuits, infused with a rich single shot of espresso, layered with a creamy whipped mixture of chicken eggs, white sugar, and mascarpone cheese, flavoured with fine cocoa powder and a shot of dark rum. Nicely comforting, this has toasty earthy milky sweet boozy flavour. A beautiful and decadent dessert here. Highly recommended!

Chef surprised us with the off-menu Macaron (SGD $Complimentary). Served on a decorative log, this had a crisp creamy soft texture with bright nutty candied sweet flavour. Good!
