Established since 1997, Rich & Good Cake Shop is a well-known confectionery and bakery, specialising in a variety of Swiss roll cakes. More than just 1980s nostalgia, their version of this cake is among the best and tastiest in Singapore, living up to their brand name.
Ambience at Rich & Good Cake Shop is retro, a throwback to the past, with their old-school shophouse setting in Kampong Glam. Their latest outlet in Jewel Changi Airport looks more modern and friendly, with clean, simple decor. As a pure takeaway place, there is no seating.
Service at Rich & Good Cake Shop is fast and efficient, albeit fairly transactional. Staff assume you're already familiar with their menu and products, and can appear brusque. Fast is good here, as the shop tends to see long queues throughout the day. They usually sell out before closing.
Food at Rich & Good Cake Shop is focused on Singaporean desserts, in particular, Swiss roll cakes / Swiss rolls. These are available in a variety of 10 different flavours. Quality is consistently high, and their Swiss rolls are delicious. There's individual and communal portions. Budget about SGD $5 per person here.

The Swiss Roll Coffee (SGD $9) has a swirl of light coffee cream, set within a coffee infused sponge cake. The Swiss roll cake is super soft and fluffy in texture, with bold coffee aroma and flavour. It's light enough that a single slice is just not enough. Simple but yummy. Highly recommended!

The Swiss Roll Orange (SGD $10) has a swirl of light orange cream, set with slices of Mandarin orange, within an orange juice infused sponge cake. The Swiss roll cake is super soft and fluffy in texture, with a slight juicy bite, and a delicate fruity orange sweet flavour. This is alright, decent but not memorable. Among their less popular renditions.

The Swiss Roll Kaya (SGD $10) has a swirl of thick pandan kaya / screwpine leaf coconut egg jam, within a pandan / screwpine leaf juice infused sponge cake. The Swiss roll cake is super soft and fluffy in texture, with a fragrant floral earthy sweet flavour. This will appeal to Singaporeans and Malaysians, but less so for other foreigners who aren't familiar with this taste. Good!
