Launched in November 2020, SOCIEATY By Les Amis Group is a multi-concept F&B project, bringing together the Les Amis Group's most popular dishes from 7 of their casual dining brands, including Peperoni Pizzeria, Mui Kee Congee, Nam Nam Noodle Bar, Lemak Boys, Tenjin, Sushi Jin, and Tarte By Cheryl Koh. With a combined menu of over 100+ dishes and the above average standards they're known for, SOCIEATY By Les Amis Group looks set to be a popular dining destination.

Ambience at SOCIEATY is modern functional, with above average comfort. Brightly lit by natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows during the day, the place takes on an intimate feel with low warm lights at night. The sturdy and wide tables are great for holding many of their large plates, and the chairs and booths are decently comfortable. The open dining hall looks spacious, and with prevailing measures, diners are seated relatively spaced out. The large glass-walled kitchen looks attractive, but there's only a few seats that can see the activity going on within.

Service at SOCIEATY befits the casual dining standards the Group is known for. Staff are friendly, professional, and courteous, according guests personalised attention when taking orders, and displaying decent product knowledge. They're helpful in guiding diners who are unfamiliar with their online ordering system. I note they clean up tables quickly when diners are finished, though I wish for more proactivity in offering more drinks. Orders are fulfilled after a short wait, even during peak periods. Advance reservations are recommended!

Food at SOCIEATY brings together the most popular dishes from 7 of the Group's casual dining brands, spanning Chinese, Italian, Japanese, and Vietnamese cuisine. This also means, on a per brand basis, that the menu is reduced as compared to the original full-scale outlets. Still, there's sufficient variety, and quality of execution is consistent, with dishes being freshly prepared and yummy. Portions are sized for individuals, being medium to large. Prices are comparable to other casual dining restaurants, budget about SGD $38 per person.

The Calamari Fritti With Arrabbiata Sauce (SGD $13) from Peperoni Pizzeria is just as delicious as in the original outlet. The thin yet bouncy calamari squid rings have a crisp crunchy spiced batter, resulting in a burst of addictive salty savoury sweet spice flavours when bit. Pair with the chunky vegetal sweet arrabbiata sauce for a delightful fresh note. Highly recommended!

Served piping hot, the Chicken Wings (SGD $10) from Peperoni Pizzeria are juicy and tender with yummy savoury salty sweet spice flavour to the chicken meat. The Asian flavoured batter is nicely appealing. Good!

Felt the Linguine Aglio E Olio With Chicken (SGD $22.50) from Peperoni Pizzeria was decent but forgettable. The al-dente linguine pasta noodles have a slightly firm chew, taking on the bright spicy grainy sweet herbal flavours of the garlic, and red chili. The chicken was unfortunately a little too chewy for my liking, though it held decent savoury sweet flavour. But the ingredients don't really complement in taste, being rather distinct - here's chicken, and here's pasta. Could be improved.

For the Mixed Pizza Half-And-Half (SGD $26 Large) from Peperoni Pizzeria, we chose the Classico Funghi, and the Speciale Prosciutto Crudo Di Parma, with an additional egg on top. Served on a chewy stretched pizza base coated with passata / tomato puree, which has bright bready vegetal sweet flavour. The toppings of bouncy mushrooms (button and straw), crisp rocket leaves / arugula, chewy prosciutto crudo di parma / parma ham, wobbly egg, and stringy cheese (mozzarella, cheddar), combines for a bold vegetal earthy bitter sweet meaty savoury salty eggy cheesy flavour. Yum. Highly recommended!

The Premium Laksa (SGD $18.50) from Lemak Boys is delicious, thanks to the bold spicy savoury sweet laksa gravy. The ingredients of soft laksa rice noodles, juicy big prawns, soft small shrimp, bouncy white clams, crisp bean sprouts, tender fish cake, and spongy tau pok / dried tofu puffs, all pick up the flavours of the laksa gravy so well. Completed with a hard boiled egg with eggy sweet flavour. Highly recommended!

The only difference between the Nasi Lemak (SGD $13.80) and Nasi Lemak Premium (SGD $18.80) from Lemak Boys, is the latter comes with a side bowl of sambal prawn curry, which has juicy fresh prawns and cherry tomatoes in a savoury spicy curry gravy. The base nasi lemak features fluffy short-grain rice infused with coconut milk, resulting in a fragrant earthy grainy sweet flavour. The anticipated chicken drumstick was juicy and tender, with bold sweet savoury spice flavour to the marinated chicken meat. The soft egg omelette is studded with spring onions, and holds good eggy vegetal sweet savoury flavour. The bouncy otah made from spice marinated fish paste has bold spicy sweet savoury flavour. There's juicy cucumber with vegetal sweet flavour, crunchy roasted peanuts with salty nutty flavour, and crisp fried anchovies with savoury salty flavour. Finished with a dollop of sambal belacan, with bright sweet spicy flavour. Highly recommended!

Loved the Sliced Raw Amberjack (SGD $12) from Mui Kee Congee, which is thickly sliced and edible in its raw state with a drizzle of lime juice. The amberjack fish is so clean-tasting and fresh, tender with a light chew, and has mild sweet savoury flavour. Good!

The Truffle Chawanmushi (SGD $4) has wobbly soft egg custard, studded with sliced shiitake mushrooms, chunks of boneless chicken, and topped with mashed black truffle paste. This has strong earthy woody flavour upfront, followed by the mild eggy sweet notes, which sometimes gets lost on the palate. Balance is a little off. Could be improved.

The Gelato Chocolate & Vanilla (SGD $6) features creamy smooth scoops of gelato ice cream. The chocolate holds deep chocolatey sweet flavour, while the vanilla has delicate floral sweet milky flavour. I like that the bowl is chilled, which slows the speed of melting. Good!
