Established in September 2014, Nuffield Dental is known for their family-friendly / child-friendly dental services, and the caring customer service rendered to patients undergoing treatments. With 8 outlets spread across Singapore, Nuffield Dental offers a full range of dental services / dentistry treatments, inculding preventive treatments, teeth extractions, fillings, dentures, as well as cosmetic treatments.

I've heard a lot of positive reviews and good hearsay about Nuffield Dental, in particular, for their caring dentists. So when tooth decay caused some initial damage recently, I sought them out. It's easy to book or change appointments, and I appreciate the reminders they send for upcoming appointments. Because appointments are scheduled, waiting time is also rather short, usually less than 10 minutes. The administration and payment after an appointment is also hassle-free, staff helpfully assist to fill in your details on the necessary forms.

You're assigned to a dentist from Nuffield Dental; during my visits, I was attended to by Dr. Amit Patel. He's friendly and strikes up conversations easily, putting customers at ease. I appreciate that before performing any treatment, he will advise the risks, outcomes, treatment cost, and seek the customer's consent, before proceeding. During procedures, he speaks calmly, updates you at key points, and also regularly checks that you feel no pain or discomfort. They have a screen displaying a tranquil aquatic environment above the dentist's chair, for customers to watch while treatment is being performed; I'm not sure how effective this is, but I appreciate the thoughtfulness.

I note that equipment used here is technologically modern, clean, and safe, for example, they use self-aspirating syringes and diode lasers. Staff are dressed in scrubs / sanitary clothing, and practise good hygiene when serving customers. Prices at Nuffield Dental are higher than most heartland dentists, but lower or similar to other dental franchises. Generally, I'd say they're priced at mid-range. Their dentists tend to be formally trained in Europe, and most are mid-career, with several years of experience. Overall, I will recommend Nuffield Dental for general dental services / dental treatments, but only if their location is convenient to travel to.

As a result of the wisdom teeth extraction, I had to eat either liquid or soft food over 3 days. Decided to set myself a challenge, firstly, to avoid eating a repeat of anything I've previously had over the 3 days (unique dishes only), secondly, to abstain from the typical choices of congee, porridge, ice cream, and yoghurt. Surprised myself that there's quite a wide variety of options, which I've decided to list here.

Disclaimer: I have no medical authority to recommend any of the dishes in this list following wisdom teeth extraction; but I have eaten some (not all) of these dishes when I was recovering from the procedure. If in any doubt, please follow the advise of your dentist.
