Opening in June 2018 and operated by Chef-Founder Khaled Elelimi, who also owns and operates the nearby Pistachio Restaurant, Yeero Gyro By Pistachio is his casual Greek dining concept. This Muslim-owned halal establishment specialises in gryos, a type of Greek fast food, and has attracted a following for its fresh, healthy dishes.

Ambience at Yeero Gyro By Pistachio is modern, casual, and functional. The stall is barely more than a kiosk, with several tables and chairs laid out in front, along the main corridor of the mall. Warmly lit and open, the modern furnishings are decently comfortable, suitable even for large groups. Perhaps the biggest draw is the vertical spits of marinated meat, slow roasting in the rotisserie, the aroma perfuming the air.

Service at Yeero Gyro By Pistachio is partially self-service, with ordering and payment over the counter, though staff helpfully serve orders to your table. The menu is simple and focused, not requiring staff to display much product knowledge, though they will accede to requests. I note they clear up and clean tables at a relaxed pace, even after diners have departed. Kudos for being friendly and polite though.

Food at Yeero Gyro By Pistachio is classic Greek cuisine, with a focus on gryos. This is a hearty, hand-held meal / snack, that can be eaten on the go. It's consistently well-executed and delicious, with portions sized for individuals. You can also bring over food ordered at their sister restaurant, Pistachio. Prices are reasonable, and more affordable than most cafes. Budget about SGD $17 per person for a meal here.

Loved the delicious Beef Gyro (SGD $13). This classic Greek meal features a warm, soft, house made pita bread. Wrapped within is a medley of fresh vegetables, including crisp lettuce, crunchy white onions, juicy tomato, and tender cucumber. Strips of rotisserie marinated beef, coated in a mix of spices (including salt, pepper, powdered garlic, oregano, cumin, parsley), sliced thinly, are generously stacked within. Dressed with tzatziki, each bite gets you a mouthful of each ingredient, bursting with bold vegetal sweet savoury salty bready flavour. Very satisfiying. Highly recommended!

Loved the Chicken Gyro Box With Falafel (SGD $14 + $7). Think deconstructured upsized gyro, featuring a box with 4 components. There's vibrant aromatic fluffy Saffron Rice, alongside a fresh medley of vegetables in the Greek Salad, including crisp lettuce, crunchy white onions, juicy tomato, tender cucumber, wispy curly endive / frisee, and soft wild rocket leaves / arugula. Flavours of bright vegetal sweet bitter herbal here. The tender chunks of Rotisserie Chicken Meat have a bold savoury spice flavour from the marinade (including salt, pepper, powdered garlic, oregano, cumin, parsley), while the creamy cooling Tzatziki and sharp Thousand Island Sauce lend additional flavour. Very satisfiying, and good value for money. Highly recommended!

Chicken Gyro Box With Falafel

The side dish of Falafel (SGD $7) is slightly more expensive than elsewhere, but is well-executed and tasty. These mashed chickpea nuggets have a satisfiying light crunch to the spice coated exterior, while the grainy chewy soft interior has a delicate earthy sweet savoury salty flavour. Can be eaten on its own, or paired with a meal (like I did). Good!
