Launched in May 2013 as Esymeals Pte Ltd, but branded and marketed in public as Yeyeah Delights, founders Grace Ng (a caterer) and Jaclyn Reutens (a clinical dietitian), set out to offer an islandwide meal delivery service, providing tasty, convenient, and value-for-money chilled Chinese meals which can be quickly reheated. With a name inspired by family patriarchs / grandfathers who would lovingly prepare home-cooked meals for their families, Yeyeah Delights strives to offer wholesome, healthy, home-cooked dishes that are well-balanced in nutrition yet delicious in taste, with thoughtful service and accessible prices.

All meals from Yeyeah Delights are prepared in their halal-certified, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) food-safe central kitchen. Meals are designed to mirror the traditional three-dish-one-soup meals enjoyed by families, with salt, sugar, and fat content closely controlled and dietician approved. Each set meal of 3-dishes-1-soup is standardised (you cannot swap for other ingredients or choices), comprising a meat or seafood dish, a vegetable dish, a special side dish selected by the chef, some nourishing soup, and usually steamed white rice. The set meal changes daily, with 5 meals comprising a weekly menu, and menus are rotated weekly, with up to 40 different menus for a year.

Yeyeah Delights has different menus catering to families, weight-loss, and even confinement meals developed in consultation with certified Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners. Freshly prepared with locally-sourced ingredients, each meal by Yeyeah Delights is blast-chilled to retain all nutrients and conserve their freshness. Delivered chilled but ready-to-eat, the eco-friendly packaging allows for quick heating in the microwave (2 - 4 minutes) or steamer (10 - 15 minutes). On the flip side, Yeyeah Delights has no option for automatic meal plan renewal, no vegetarian or gluten-free meal options, and any changes or cancellation has to be done 3 working days before the planned delivery date.

Ordering the weekly meal plan from Yeyeah Delights is relatively straightforward; you submit an enquiry, respond to their email, make the electronic payment transfer, and verify your order and receipt. Staff are friendly, helpful, and responsive in interactions, making it easy to transact. Delivery of meals takes place twice weekly on every Monday and Wednesday, with lunch delivered between 10am - 1pm, and dinner delivered between 3pm - 7pm, I personally prefer to order lunch from Yeyeah Delights. Meals arrive packed in carton boxes with dry ice. Budget about SGD $18 per meal per person. Overall, Yeyeah Delights is a decent straightforward meal delivery service, with healthy dishes and reasonable prices, provided you have a fixed daily routine.

The Monday Lunch Set Meal (SGD $18) was served with Steamed Chestnut Rice, which had 2 tender firm chestnuts with nutty sweet flavour, embedded in fluffy soft steamed white rice with grainy sweet flavour. Fragrant, but the chestnut notes don't infuse the rice, remaining distinctly separate. The Japanese Cream Stew With Chicken And Broccoli features crunchy broccoli florets with vegetal sweet flavour, tender boneless chicken chunks with mild savoury sweet flavour, in a creamy but mild Japanese cream stew that tastes of light milky sweet notes.

The Sauteed Mushrooms With Soy Butter Sauce have bouncy juicy shimeji mushrooms and crunchy carrots, both with vegetal earthy sweet flavour. The supposed gravy didn't come through for me. There's also juicy canned pineapple slices that contrast with beautiful fruity sweet flavour. The Fish Soup With Spinach has soft wilted spinach with vegetal sweet flavour, and tender soft boneless dory fish fillet with mild sweet savoury notes, in a light soup base of chicken stock, with the other ingredients lending a light overlay of flavour.

The Tuesday Lunch Set Meal (SGD $18) was served with Steamed White Rice, which had a fluffy soft texture with grainy sweet flavour. The unique Fish Curry With Papaya had tender soft boneless dory fish fillet with mild sweet savoury flavour, along with chunks of soft papaya with light fruity sweet flavour, in a thin gentle mild curry gravy with light sweet savoury spice notes. However, I felt this was much too mild and underwhelming, would have preferred it spicy instead.

The Sesame Long Beans have juicy long beans and crunchy carrots, both with vegetal sweet flavour, in a delicious sesame gravy that lends bold nutty sweet salty flavour, making this really addictive. The crunchy Edamame / Immature Soy Beans have bright grassy vegetal sweet flavour, and are served in a creamy but mild Japanese cream stew that tastes of light milky sweet notes. The Hairy Gourd Soup has soft juicy chunks of hairy gourd with vegetal sweet flavour, and tender bouncy boneless chicken chunks with mild sweet savoury notes, in a light soup base of chicken stock, with the other ingredients lending a light overlay of flavour.

The Wednesday Lunch Set Meal (SGD $18) was served with Pilaf Rice, which had a fluffy soft texture with distinct grainy sweet flavour and fragrance. The Western-inspired Hickory Sauce Chicken had tender boneless chunks of chicken with sweet savoury flavour, in a much-too-mild hickory barbecue gravy with light sweet sour savoury notes. Wish this was thick and rich instead.

The Cabbage With Carrots And Vermicelli Noodles has soft crunchy cabbage and carrots, along with silky glass cellophane vermicelli noodles, with lovely vegetal sweet savoury flavour that I found rather addictive. The Grilled Tomato features juicy grilled cherry tomatoes that are piping hot with vegetal sweet floral flavour, complementing the rice. The Seaweed Tofu Soup has spongy cubes of firm tofu beancurd with grainy sweet flavour, wispy seaweed with earthy salty flavour, and tender bouncy boneless chicken chunks with mild sweet savoury notes, in a light soup base of chicken stock, with the other ingredients lending a light overlay of flavour.

The Thursday Lunch Set Meal (SGD $18) was served with Steamed White Rice, which had a fluffy soft texture with grainy sweet flavour. The Lemongrass Fish has tender soft boneless dory fish fillet with mild sweet savoury notes in a thick translucent lemongrass and coriander infused gravy with bright herbal sweet flavour. But the portion was rather small and unsatisfying.

The Chye Sim With Tau Kwa features crunchy chye sim / choy sum / Chinese flowering cabbage and carrots, both with vegetal sweet flavour, along with spongy chewy tau kwa / dried tofu puffs with grainy sweet savoury flavour. Decent enough. The Enoki Mushrooms has crunchy golden mushrooms in a braised soy sauce gravy, resulting in an addictive earthy salty savoury flavour. The White Radish Chicken Soup has tender soft cubes of daikon radish and carrots with mild vegetal sweet flavour, and tender bouncy boneless chicken chunks with mild sweet savoury notes, in a light soup base of chicken stock, with the other ingredients lending a light overlay of flavour.

The Friday Lunch Set Meal (SGD $18) was served with Steamed White Rice, which had a fluffy soft texture with grainy sweet flavour. The Breaded Chicken Cutlet was delicious, with a slightly crisp coat and tender moist chicken meat within, with lovely savoury sweet grainy flavour.

The unique Sweet Potato And Mushroom Curry had chunks of tender sweet potato and bouncy shimeiji mushrooms, in a thin light curry, with vegetal earthy sweet spice flavour. Much too mild for my liking though. The steamed Broccoli was fairly straightforward and paired with carrots, having a soft tender crunch to texture and bright vegetal sweet flavour. However, the Cream Of Chicken Soup was terrible, being overly salty to the point of undrinkable, I took a few mouthfuls and had to stop, didn't finish it.
