Established by owner-chef Mimmo in November 2016, Trattoria Da Mimmo is a quaint rustic Italian restaurant that's been serving up hearty and authentic dishes. Despite its off-the-beaten-path location, diners have been flocking to Trattoria Da Mimmo for their exquisite and delicious plates with a semi-fine dining experience.
Ambience at Trattoria Da Mimmo is cozy and rustic. Faux greenery and warm lights against the cobblestone wall features create a cottage house vibe, while the sturdy wooden and rattan furnishings are neatly set with fine tableware. The place is long though narrow, with 3 distinct spaces of outdoor al-fresco, indoor dining hall, and main dining room.
Service at Trattoria Da Mimmo is attentive and knowledgeable. Staff regularly engage guests and ensure needs and requests are fulfilled, offering to clear finished plates proactively, and cleaning up quickly when guests leave. The Pane E Aglio (SGD $Complimentary) here is a crusty crisp crunchy version with gentle bready sweet toasty flavour. Diners can help themselves to a dipping sauce of olive oil and black vinegar, to lend an added earthy vegetal sour flavour to the bread. Good!

A house speciality appetizer, the Trippa Della Casa (SGD $24) features beef tripe / beef stomach oven baked with tomatoes and cheddar cheese, until everything is tender and juicy. Rich with vegetal sweet savoury salty cheesy flavour, the tomatoes are soft while the beef tripe is lightly chewy, yum. Good!

The Burrata Pugliese Con Parma E Melone (SGD $56) is both a visual treat and a hearty sharing appetizer. Over a bed of fresh crisp lettuce and crunchy cucumbers with vegetal sweet flavour, sits large wispy shavings of parma ham with smoky meaty salty savoury flavour, around a large ball of traditional Pugliese burrata of soft cow's cheese and cream with milky sweet flavour. Completed with juicy cherry tomatoes with vegetal sweet flavour, and juicy rock melon slices with fruity sweet flavour. Loved every bite of this, everything pairs excellently with the other ingredients. Highly recommended!

The Gnocchi Ai Formaggi (SGD $29) has soft chewy gnocchi pasta balls immersed in a rich creamy 4 cheese sauce of parmesan, mozzarella, provolone, and pecorino romano, garnished with coriander and black pepper. The result is a robust burst of cheesy salty savoury sweet herbal peppery spice flavour with each mouthful. Completed with fresh crisp lettuce with vegetal sweet notes. Delicious and filling, best shared. Highly recommended!

The Pappardelle Al Cinghiale (SGD $36) is a unique pasta dish, with wide flat strips of al-dente pappardelle pasta noodles, garnished with a special wild boar ragu sauce. It's not gamey at all, and the thick chunky meat sauce carries bright vegetal meaty savoury sweet flavour, nicely appetizing. Completed with bits of coriander which lend vegetal herbal flavour, and fresh crisp lettuce with vegetal sweet notes. Good!

The Speciale Pizza Bianca Rucola Con Salsiccia E Bufala (SGD $42) was the special off-menu pizza-of-the-day during our visit. This has a crisp chewy fluffy pizza crust with smoky bready toasty sweet savoury flavour, and is garnished with a white sauce of gooey mozzarella cheese, crisp rucola / rocket leaves / arugula, juicy cherry tomatoes, tender hand formed skinless pork sausage chunks, soft white onions, and bouncy burrata cheese balls (of cow's cheese and cream), drizzled with lashings of balsamic vinegar. The result is a complex yet pleasant combination of cheesy salty vegetal bitter herbal sweet earthy sour meaty savoury milky flavours. Loved this. Highly recommended!

The classic Tiramisu (SGD $15) was well-executed, with the dessert made from ladyfinger biscuits / savoiardi / sponge finger biscuits, dipped in espresso coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of chicken eggs, white sugar, and mascarpone cheese, flavoured with cocoa powder. Beautifully rich, soft, and creamy, with bright toasty milky sweet flavour. Highly recommended!

Love the presentation of the Sorbetto Al Limone (SGD $12), which is served in a hollowed lemon. The creamy icy lemon sorbet holds sharp punchy sour sweet flavour, intense yet palate cleansing. Great way to finish a meal, but best to finish your wine first, else, this just eliminates the taste. Good!
