Among the best places to drink Apple Juice, as the cold Tasmania climate is well suited for growing apples. The slow-growing, sun-ripened apples render a crisp fresh fruity sweet flavour to the apple juice, that's incredibly refreshing and addictive.

Similar to the Full English Breakfast, the Aussie Big Brekky is popular in Hobart, mostly eaten on weekends. The Aussie Big Brekky consists of a medley of grilled or pan-fried ingredients, including some or all of the following; crispy pork back bacon rashers with smoky meaty salty savoury fatty flavour, tender roasted potatoes or hashbrowns with starchy salty savoury flavour, bouncy sautéed mushrooms (button, portobello, or cremini) with vegetal earthy salty savoury flavour, fluffy fried eggs with eggy savoury sweet flavour, juicy tomatoes with vegetal sweet smoky flavour, snappy juicy grilled sausages (pork, chicken, or beef) with smoky meaty savoury salty herbal flavour, soft baked beans in tomato sauce with vegetal earthy sweet flavour, or crisp sautéed spinach with vegetal sweet salty flavour. The unique Australian addition is thick vegemite spread on crisp toasted white bread or sourdough bread, carrying herbal salty savoury bready sweet flavour.

The iconic German Black Forest Cake, or Black Forest Gâteau, features several layers of soft chocolate sponge cake, sandwiched with fluffy whipped cream and juicy cherries, topped with chocolate shavings. Traditionally Kirschwasser, a clear sour cherry liqueur, is added to the cake. Carries enticing chocolatey milky fruity sour sweet boozy flavour, a lovely dessert.

The Beef Brisket sourced from Kennaook / Cape Grim, Tasmania, Australia, is renowned for being of the finest quality, sourced from cattle grass-fed on rich pastures, hand-selected and rigorously graded. It's cooked low and slow, seasoned simply with salt and black pepper, until the beef brisket is really tender and succulent and juicy, each bite carrying beautiful meaty savoury salty fatty peppery spice flavour.

A popular dish, the Chicken Parmigiana became known in Australia around 1953, and is a staple pub grub. The chicken parmigiana, sometimes shortened to just 'parmi', features a large boneless breaded chicken breast, coated in a generous dressing of tomato ketchup, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, or provolone cheese, sometimes with added pork bacon or ham. The result is a tender and moist texture with meaty savoury sweet salty cheesy flavour. Traditionally served with a side of salad, and English style chunky potato chips or French style shoe-string potato fries.

While the British Fish And Chips and the Australian Fish And Chips both use the same English style thick cut chips seasoned with salt and a dash of vinegar, the difference lies in the type of fish used. Australian Fish And Chips are typically made with firm white flesh fish that are common in Australia, such as John Dory, Whiptail Hake, Flathead, Reef Cod, Rock Cod, Flake, Basa Catfish, Blue Grenadier, or Barramundi. The fish is light battered and deep fried, then garnished with a slice of lemon and served with a side of tomato sauce or tartar sauce. It has a crisp exterior, a moist tender flaky interior, and a delicate sweet salty savoury flavour. In Hobart, the most common type of fish used is Blue Eye Travalla, Blue Grenadier, Flake, or Flathead.

The Lamington is an iconic Australian dessert common in Hobart. It is a light vanilla or chocolate sponge cake set in a square shape, coated with a thin layer of chocolate icing / chocolate sauce, then covered in desiccated coconut. The Lamington is often served with layers of cream or fruit jam (strawberry or raspberry). It has a soft spongy texture, with bright fruity sweet flavour. Named after Charles Wallace Alexander Napier Cochrane-Baillie 2nd Baron Lamington, or Lord Lamington, though ironically, he actually disliked the dessert, calling it "those bloody poofy woolly biscuits".

An Australian Meat Pie is a hand-sized meat pie, containing diced or minced meat, root vegetables, and gravy, in a solid pastry pie crust. Often consumed as a takeaway food snack, it's similar to the British style pie.

The Meat Pie Chicken & Mushroom is lovely and light, with the crisp flaky pie crust shattering beautifully to reveal the filling of tender chicken chunks, soft caramelised white onions, tender button mushrooms, and a light cream gravy. This pie hold bold meaty sweet earthy vegetal savoury flavour.

The Meat Pie Potato & Minced Beef is a cross between a traditional meat pie and a typical cottage pie / shepherd's pie. The base is a crisp flaky pie crust, but the top is fluffy mashed potatoes, with a filling of tender minced beef and black pepper gravy. While not usually called out, this pie typically includes pork bacon bits too. Combined, this pie has lovely meaty starchy sweet savoury salty peppery spice flavour.

Oysters are a type of shellfish, regarded as a delicacy, and are commonly consumed either cooked or raw. Oysters are rich in protein, and an excellent source of zinc, iron, calcium, selenium, vitamin A, and vitamin B12.

The Oyster Raw involves just a sprinkle of lemon juice, lending a zesty tangy sour note to the natural briny sweet flavour of the oyster, with its slippery juicy texture.

The Oyster Kilpatrick is a cooked oyster grilled with pork bacon bits, worcestershire sauce, and tomato sauce. It has a slippery chewy soft texture, with robust smoky meaty salty savoury sweet herbal flavour.

The Pancakes With Bacon & Maple, Clotted Cream & Ice Cream is an interesting spin on this classic breakfast dish. The short stack of 2 fluffy soft buttermilk pancakes with bready sweet flavour, is served with crisp streaky pork bacon and chewy lean pork back bacon, both with meaty salty savoury flavour. On the side is fluffy airy whipped cream, and creamy smooth vanilla ice cream, both with milky sweet flavour. Dress with rich thick maple syrup for added honeyed floral sweet flavour.

The Salt & Pepper Calamari Squid features medium sized chunks of bouncy chewy calamari squid, scored then coated in a light and crisp spiced batter, made with rice flour, salt, white pepper, chili, and lemon juice. Often served with thick cut English potato chips, the squid has a delicate sweet salty savoury spice flavour. Condiments to accompany this usually include mayonnaise or tomato ketchup.

It's Scones With Mulberry Jam & Clotted Cream. The scones are firm outside crumbly inside, with mild bready sweet flavour. The clotted cream is thick and rich with milky sweet flavour, while the chunky mulberry jam compote holds fruity earthy sour sweet flavour.

The Seafood Chowder is creamy and thick, filled with chunks of deboned basa fish fillets, prawns / shrimp, and scallops, all tender and springy in texture, picking up the lovely sweet savoury milky salty briny flavours of the seafood chowder soup. Served with slices of crisp buttered toast bread with smoky bready savoury sweet flavour, this was really filling.

The Smoked Wallaby is served thinly sliced, with a chewy lean texture and robust meaty savoury smoky flavour. Usually part of a cheese board or similar appetizer, the smoked wallaby is a unique treat.

The Tiger Prawns Fresh are beautifully cooked, crunchy and juicy and succulent. The fresh tiger prawns carry a lovely sweet savoury flavour, and can be accompanied by a lemon wedge and sauces, for example, tomato ketchup, tartar sauce, or thousand island sauce.

The Vanilla Slice is a classic British English dessert pastry that's rather popular in Australia. It consists of thick layers of creamy wobbly soft custard flavoured with vanilla, sandwiched with crisp flaky layers of thin puff pastry, topped with icing sugar. Has a bright floral sweet buttery flavour, yum.
