Opening in October 2023, Hundred Grains (百米香) is a new concept Chinese casual eatery that features a self-service semi-buffet. At Hundred Grains (百米香), diners choose from a variety of 60 to 100 different dishes, from meat to fish to vegetables to eggs, making payment by weight at SGD $3.18 per 100 grams, with rice, drinks, fruit, and dessert being free-flow. You can get a good hearty meal at an affordable price here at Hundred Grains (百米香).

Ambience at Hundred Grains (百米香) is clean, brightly lit, and functional. The main food display is laid out neatly, with customers picking out dishes in an orderly fashion. Furnishings are decently comfortable for a quick sit-down casual meal. Layout is clear and makes sense, and atmosphere during peak meal periods is bustling.

Service at Hundred Grains (百米香) is polite, quick, and efficient. Staff guide first-time customers in the ordering and payment process, but for repeat customers, the main interaction with staff is during the payment, where they help weigh your tray of food. Staff demonstrate good product knowledge, and while diners are required to self-service in ordering and clearing of trays, staff quickly clean up tables.

Food at Hundred Grains (百米香) is Chinese cuisine, featuring a mix of Mandarin, Cantonese, Sichuan / Szechuan, and Hunan cuisines. Dishes are freshly prepared and replenished throughout the day, kept warm with heated lamps. Quality is above average, dishes are tasty and well executed, relatively healthy too with less oil. Portions are self-serviced by individuals, and you can choose as much as you want. Prices are by weight, but I find it affordable and reasonable. Budget about SGD $15 per person.

Choose from between 60 to 100 dishes spread across the main display, kept warm with lamps. The variety is extensive! I find the fried items best when it's freshly prepared, less so if it's sitting out awhile. Pricing is by weight, at SGD $3.18 per 100 grams.

The Orange Juice is more a cordial, but I like that it's decently thick without being overly sweetened, carrying lovely fruity sweet flavour. Drinks are free-flow. Good!

The Xuě Ěr Táng Shuǐ Jiǔniàng (雪耳糖水酒酿) / Snow Fungus Syrup Fermented Rice Wine features a thick gloopy base of fermented rice wine and hulled rice grains, garnished with crunchy white fungus / snow fungus, juicy red dates, and soft goji berries / wolfberries. This has a strange herbal earthy fruity sour sweet boozy flavour, and was the single dish or dessert that didn't quite appeal to me.
