Established at some point before October 2019 in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia, Da Cheng Lok Lok first opened their Singapore stall branch in April 2024. Da Cheng Lok Lok is known for offering a wide range and variety of skewers, including uncommon ingredients, at wallet-friendly and affordable prices. Coupled with their late-night operating hours, Da Cheng Lok Lok is a go-to spot for supper.
Ambience at Da Cheng Lok Lok is casual and unfussy, with warm lighting, functional furniture, and a serene open-air space. A straightforward vibe, the space is quiet around dinner, but picks up as the night goes on, becoming bustling and lively. They play loud background music through large amplifiers, with the bass turned up.
Service at Da Cheng Lok Lok is efficient. Pick out the skewers you want, tell staff if you want them deep-fried or boiled, then make payment over the counter. Numbered counters indicate orders ready for self-collection. Diners are expected to clean up and clear their trays when finished. Light queries or requests may be entertained if there is no line of customers.
Food at Da Cheng Lok Lok is Chinese cuisine, focused on Malaysian style lok lok, skewers that are deep-fried or boiled, paired with dipping sauces. And they have a good variety of dipping sauces, from thick satay peanut gravy to fiery mala peppercorn sauce. Ingredients are mostly fresh. Portions are decent, sized for individuals. Prices are affordable, budget about SGD $18 per person.
