1. House Of Sampoerna


The House Of Sampoerna is among the best preserved attractions in Surabaya. Home to one of Indonesia’s most famous kretek cigarette manufacturers, the House Of Sampoerna is housed in a preserved 19th century Dutch building, and offers a vast range of exhibits on cigarettes such as lighters, holders, and uniforms. The main highlight is the vast factory floor, where hundreds of workers churn out the Dji Sam Soe brand of cigarettes by hand.

2. Heroes Monument

The Heroes Monument is a symbol of Surabaya, dedicated to those who died during the Battle Of Surabaya, which won the independence of Indonesia. Shaped in an overturned nail form, the Heroes Monument also includes the 10th November Museum which exhibits the struggle for independence.

3. Ciputra Waterpark

Ciputra Waterpark in western Surabaya is among the largest water theme parks in Southeast Asia, and the largest in Indonesia. Balai Pemuda, otherwise known as the Surabaya Youth Centre, is a cultural heritage building, and the site of the Surabaya Arts Centre. The Balai Pemuda also provides tourist information on Surabaya, and is staffed by hospitality and tourism students from Indonesia university.

5. Tantular MPU State Museum

The Tantular MPU State Museum houses a collection of historical and cultural artifacts from across Indonesia and Surabaya. Named for the Indonesia philologist, Tantular MPU State Museum has 10 categories for its exhibits, including Geology, Biology, Ethnography, Archaeology, History, Numismatic And Heraldic, Philology, Ceramics, Fine Arts, and Technology. The collection of 15,000 artifacts mostly originate from pre-history.
