The famed Madame Tussauds Wax Museum from London, England, has been capturing the imagination of the public for over 250 years. Opening a branch in Sentosa in October 2014, the Sentosa Madame Tussauds Singapore allows visitors to get up close and personal with life-like wax figures of the famous and powerful. Featuring 8 themed zones, visitors have the opportunity to see, touch, and interact with the exhibits in Madame Tussauds Singapore.

The layout of Madame Tussauds Singapore is very linear and structured, and a cursory walkthrough will bring you by all the exhibits. The History & Leaders Zone is right at the start, where wax figures of political heavyweights await. Here, you can engage in 'debate' with Barack Obama, stand with Nelson Mandela, or see Singapore's power couple of Lee Kuan Yew and Kwa Geok Choo. Next, the Sports Zone allows you to shoot basketball hoops with Yao Ming, putt on the golfing green with Tiger Woods, or take a virtual penalty shoot-out with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Moving further into Madame Tussauds Singapore, you'll come to the Behind The Scenes Zone, which traces the history of the real life Madame Anna Maria "Marie" Tussaud, as well as showcases the process of making a wax figure. The TV / Television Zone is somewhat of a let down though, with only 4 wax figures. The Music Zone features some of the most recognisable musicians in history, including Michael Jackson and Madonna. The Film Zone showcases celebrities from both Hollywood and Bollywood, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan, and Amitabh Bachchan. Finally, the A-List Party Zone allows you to socialise with wax figures of Andy Lau, Leonardo DiCaprio, or Johnny Depp.

A major drawback of Madame Tussauds Singapore is that the entire exhibition is rather small, with each zone having less than 10 wax figures. The overall representation for each zone isn't comprehensive, as the selection of wax figures mostly comprise those commonly in the public eye. I found myself thinking, "Is that it?" upon reaching the end, and I actually doubled back to walk through again! For the price, I felt it could have been much better, but as it is, I think my visit to Sentosa Madame Tussauds Singapore wasn't good value for money.

If you're planning a visit to Sentosa Madame Tussauds Singapore, do note that admission fees cost SGD $30, and allocate between 1 to 2 hours for viewing. The promotion package price they have with Sentosa Images Of Singapore actually makes the whole experience much more worthwhile and value for money, at only SGD $35 admission fees to both attractions, you're better off getting this 2-for-1 deal instead.
