Established in 1998, Crystabelle KTV Lounge is a quiet, hidden find of a karaoke place, located just outside Outram Park MRT, along Teo Hong Road. A combination karaoke and pub, Crystabelle KTV Lounge has been run by an elderly couple since the very beginning. The friendly, kindly service from the mom-and-pop owners, cheap / affordable prices for karaoke, clean surroundings, and a decent audio system, means people who do know of this place return fairly often!

Almost half of the small floor space at Crystabelle KTV Lounge is given over to the pub, and a common karaoke area. Lined with high bar tables and bar stools, and with touch-screen karaoke screens along the wall, joining in here means you can also showcase your singing talents to the rest of the patrons in the common area! There is a good selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, available, at affordable prices. 5 bottles of Hoegaarden Beer only cost SGD $44! Crystabelle KTV Lounge also has an arrangement with nearby eateries to supply food, so it's actually possible to have a full, proper meal here!

For the more reserved, or groups, Crystabelle KTV Lounge also has several private karaoke rooms. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and equipped with the same audio systems as the pub / common karaoke area. The touch-screen song selection system is easy to navigate, with clear buttons. Sound emitted from the audio system is clear with good body, and a sense of depth, not muffled, not blurred, not fuzzy. Song catalogue is varied and extensive, with both nostalgic oldies and up-to-date hits. They even offer songs in a variety of languages; English, Mandarin, Tamil, Malay, Korean, Japanese, Hokkien, Vietnamese! However, there were some drawbacks as well; a useless remote control, and no sound proofing which results in sound leakage from the common karaoke area.

The private karaoke rooms in Crystabelle KTV Lounge are limited, so advance bookings must be made. A minimum of 4 people is required, and the rooms can hold up to 12 people. Prices are cheap / affordable, costing SGD $17 per person, for singing time of 3 hours, inclusive of 1 drink per person, and 1 snack and fruit platter per room. The snacks are decent, but I like the fresh platter of fruit. The nice, elderly uncle and aunty provide friendly, polite service, and are quick and efficient in serving drinks or replacing batteries. Crystabelle KTV Lounge has both male and female washrooms, though it's individual use, so expect a short queue. Overall, great place for karaoke, I will return again!
