So I got the Ikea Tunholmen Chair, product number 502.595.01, that was just released early in 2015. Made with lightweight aluminium, the Ikea Tunholmen Chair is sturdy and strong, requiring almost no maintenance as it's rust-proof and water resistant. A simple wipe or rinse with water will easily clean it!

Designed for outdoor garden use, the Ikea Tunholmen Chair is also suitable for indoor use... in fact, I'm using it as a working desk chair! As the entire chair is moulded in 1 piece, there are no screws, loose parts, or nuts and bolts to tighten... no assembly needed! I like that the seat is wide and spacious, with drainage holes to allow water to escape, and the small back rest extends past the lower back. This, along with its gentle incline, allows for comfortable leaning and relaxing.

The Ikea Tunholmen Chair is also designed to be easily stackable, saving space when not in use. Furniture designer and creator of the Ikea Tunholmen Chair, Mr. David Wahl, says this chair was originally created for restaurants, whose requirements were dining chairs that could be easily cleaned, moved around, stacked together, and easily locked / secured.

Possibly the only drawback is the short arm handles, while it's easy to carry, the short length makes it difficult to rest your arms. The metal base on the legs of the chair also make it noisy when moved along hard surfaces, especially indoors, though this is easily remedied by attaching rubber / sponge on the base of the chair legs. Also, it only comes in 1 colour, metal grey. Overall, the Ikea Tunholmen Chair is still a solid, well-designed chair!
