Opening in September 2018, MuYoo+ is the extension of cheese & fruit tea brand MuYoo. Their latest one-tea-one-roll concept includes a fresh fruit bakery, combining their healthier alternative bubble tea with filling fresh baked breads, in a delicious range of flavours.
MuYoo+ Facade |
Ambience at MuYoo+ is bright, attractive, and casual. The small bakery & tea bar is neatly laid out, with rows of appetizing bakes behind clear glass panels. Bright lighting and signages make the place visible from the street, very eye-catching. Half the battle is won here, once curious onlookers step-in, they'll be drawn by the appetizing sights and creative wizardry on display. Easy to see MuYoo+ having long queues, at least at the start.

Service at MuYoo+ is friendly, helpful, and thoughtful. Mostly self-service, with ordering, payment, and collection over the counter; it's the little touches that staff do that differentiate this bakery from elsewhere. Instead of tongs, flat spatulas are used for serving, ensuring the delicate breads aren't crushed. You can also request staff to assist in cutting the bread, which they do efficiently. When queried, staff display good product knowledge, able to make astute recommendations.

Dirty Drinks |
Food at MuYoo+ is Japanese inspired, Modern Singaporean cuisine. Their signature fruit breads and seafood breads are fresh baked several times throughout the day, using quality seasonal ingredients, and beautifully presented like works of art. This also means the bakery menu changes often, making repeat visits worthwhile. The signature drinks from MuYoo also feature; their light, healthier alternative fruit teas, cheese teas, and dirty drinks being the must-trys.

The Fun Fruit Tea - Peach + Kalamansi + Passion Fruit (SGD $4.90) packs bold, fruity sweet flavour, being medium thick but not cloying. The beverage itself has peach juice, kalamansi lime juice, and passion fruit juice, but is garnished with fresh whole sliced fruits, including orange, lime, pineapple, and watermelon. Refreshing and thirst-quenching.

Tried the Cloud Fruit Tea - Ruby Red Watermelon With Rose Cloud (SGD $5.50), which has a delicate fruity sweet, refreshing floral touch. The watermelon juice is topped with rose water infused syrup. Love that you can choose the level of sweetness for all their beverages here.

The Sampler Tea Latte - Purple Potato + Pumpkin has a vibrant purple colour, with an earthy sweet mellow flavour. I prefer the warm version over the chilled version.

The Cloud Fruit Tea - Winter White Grape With Rose Cloud (SGD $6.50) is a beautiful pairing, with the delicate, fruity sweet flavour of white grape juice, topped with the floral rose water syrup. Bright and light and so refreshing.

The Sampler Cloud Tea - Lapsang Souchong With Cheese Cloud is unique, with the deep earthy notes of the lapsang souchong tea complemented by the savoury cheesy notes of the cheese cloud. I prefer the chilled version over the warm version.

The Dirty Drink - Brown Sugar Fresh Milk + Pearl (SGD $3.90) has milky earthy floral sweet notes from the brown sugar infused fresh milk, with a soft chew to the brown sugar pearls. Decent enough.

The Dirty Drink - Mango + Fresh Milk (SGD $3.90) is fairly straightforward, think fruity sweet mango infused fresh milk. Alright, didn't quite do it for me.

The Matcha Chocolate Pearl (SGD $4.90) is a large, doughy bready ring, infused with matcha / green tea powder, studded with chocolate chips, and filled with matcha / green tea infused cream cheese. Bold grassy earthy sweet flavours, with a light chew to texture. I don't particularly like matcha / green tea, so I'm biased against this.

The Rainbow Salted Egg Lava (SGD $4.20) has that illusionary sheen of several colours in the round dome of the bread. The soft, tearable, chewy bun has a hollow center, filled with a rich, creamy, savoury salty sweet filling of condensed milk and salted egg yolk paste. Enjoyable but best shared, as it's really filling.

The Lemon Cheesy Dragon (SGD $3.90) looks super filling, with the large, 's' shaped, lemon zest infused bread having a soft, tearable, chewy texture. It has a lemon juice infused cream cheese filling, giving the bun a tangy zesty sweet flavour.

My favourite bread is the Green Grape Rainbow Wand (SGD $3.90) bun. The soft, tearable, chewy green grape juice infused bread is filled with light, airy cream cheese, and studded with juicy fresh green grapes. Beautiful light green colour, looking vibrant. Delicate bready fruity sweet flavours, love the burst of flavour when bit. Highly recommended!

Felt the Mango Fairy Wand (SGD $4.90) was possibly the weakest link. Featuring the same soft, tearable, chewy bun, infused this time with mango juice; the bread is filled with light, airy cream cheese, and studded with juicy fresh mango cubes. Has a pale yellow colour, with bold bready fruity sweet flavour. An average offering in an otherwise novel menu.

What made the Blueberry Fairy Wand (SGD $4.50) stand out is the soft, tearable, chewy, milk chocolate and blueberry juice infused bread. Filled with light, airy cream cheese, and studded with juicy fresh blueberries, the bun has a lovely bready chocolatey fruity sweet flavour. Loved it. Highly recommended!

The Matcha Dirty Bun (SGD $5.90) is a messy doughy bun with a stretchy, chewy soft texture. Coated in matcha / green tea powder, filled with matcha / green tea cream and Belgian white chocolate, this is a pleasing dessert treat with its grassy earthy sweet chocolatey milky flavours. Personally would prefer a straightforward chocolate version instead.

The signature seafood bun, the Hot Crabby (SGD $5.90) is shaped like a crab claw. The soft, tearable, chewy bread is coated in a spicy curry powder, while the hollow center is filled with tender fresh snow crab meat, creamy mayonnaise, Italian cheddar cheese, and Thai chili powder. Lovely delicate sweet savoury notes from the crab, then you get the fiery sharp spicy kick which fades quickly. Rather addictive. Highly recommended!

The Ori Octoki (SGD $5.90) is so cute, shaped like a cartoon octopus. The soft, tearable, chewy bread is infused with squid ink, with a small hollow center that is filled with fresh octopus chunks, Italian cheddar cheese, and a secret sauce. The bun is completed with white chocolate chips and dark chocolate chips to create its 'eyes'. Deep earthy savoury flavour, but I wish the portion of octopus was more generous, with less of the bread. As is, I didn't quite enjoy it.

Felt the Durian Lava (SGD $4.50) looks like it has inverse shaped thorns on the surface of the bread. Cut into the soft, tearable, chewy bun and watch the rich, creamy thick, mao shan wang durian paste ooze out beautifully. Only fresh durians are used, giving this seasonal bun a lovely fruity sweet flavour that isn't overpowering.
