Founded in December 2015, Perghh is a pop-up stall that specialises in over-the-top, partially hand made carnival snacks. They used to have a permanent location in the Simpang Bedok area of Singapore. Now, Perghh mostly makes appearances during major events throughout the year as a pop-up stall. They are a 100% Muslim owned and operated stall.

Ambience at Perghh always draws on the surrounding bazzar it's located in - typically hot, crowded, noisy, bustling places. The stall itself is usually easy to spot, with its large clear signage, and short queue. Average queue time is about 10 minutes or so. You can watch as the staff prepare each order, which seems rather like a dance as they move around methodically.

Service at Perghh is completely self-service, with ordering, payment, and collection at the front of the queue. Staff do have decent product knowledge, and sometimes will accede to special requests. You can also chat with them as they work. They work pretty fast, but as most of their snacks are made to order, there is a short wait. It's pretty straightforward here, don't expect gourmet.

Food at Perghh is halal American snacks, with a focus on corn dogs, mars candy bars, and finger food. Most items are fried, and suitable for a carnival or bazzar atmosphere. While the main ingredients in each dish is usually mass-produced, their batters are hand made, and taste good. Portions are large for individuals, and are filling. Prices are slightly expensive for the quality. Budget about SGD $8 per person.

The Basil Seed Peach Drink (SGD $5.50) features a large tube of peach syrup flavoured water, filled with basil seeds. Also called Air Selasih Besau, it has a light fruity sweet flavour, not too cloying. The basil seeds lend a light crunch to texture. Alright.

A corn dog is a typical American street snack, consisting of a chicken sausage hot dog, coated in a cornmeal batter, and deep-fried. The Corn Dog (SGD $6) is larger in size than normal, and they use a halal chicken and cheese sausage. The cornmeal batter is home made, and I like that it's not too thick or too thin. Has a slightly crisp texture outside, with a juicy chew inside, and good savoury sweet salty cheesy flavour. Served with an optional drizzle of tomato ketchup and mayonnaise. Super filling. Good!

As its name suggests, the Corn Dog With Cheese (SGD $6) is served coated in a generous helping of nacho cheese sauce. Rich and creamy, with bold salty cheesy flavour, this is a more decadent version. Good!

The Signature Corn Dog & Nachos Combo (SGD $10.50) features their signature corn dog, with cheese sauce, and the addition of nacho chips. The nacho chips weren't good, being exposed to air far too long, and had gone limp, losing its crunch. Skip this.

Loved the Popcorn Chicken (SGD $4.50), with its juicy chunks of diced chicken, coated in a light, crisp, spiced buttermilk batter. Has a gentle crunch, with delicate savoury sweet salty spice flavour. The batter is home made, and makes this stand out compared to other versions. Good!

The Deep-Fried Mars Bar (SGD $5.50) is a Scottish invention, where a Mars candy bar is coated in batter, then deep-fried. It's actually opposed by Mars Incorporated themselves, who said "deep-frying one of our products would go against our commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles." The version here has a light spongy batter, with a gooey creamy texture within, and bold sweet caramel chocolate notes. Drizzled with chocolate sauce and dusted with icing sugar for presentation.
