Established since at least June 2010 or earlier, Restoran Lee is a casual, no-frills, Chinese Zi Char stall that specialises in crabs. Occupying a corner location opposite the Bayview Hotel in Malacca, Central Malacca, Malaysia, Restoran Lee is immediately visible from the street, with its brightly lit signboard and typically crowded seating area.

Ambience at Restoran Lee is basic, no-frills, coffeeshop atmosphere. The open area is brightly lit and airy, with functional plastic and metal furniture. The closer you sit to the kitchen, the heavier the smell of cooking hangs in the air, and sticks to your clothing. At least the place is sufficiently clean and comfortable for dining.

Service at Restoran Lee is brusque and impatient. Staff expect you to place orders quickly, so they can get on with it. Plates and cutlery are placed quickly on tables when you're seated; and just as efficiently cleared and cleaned when diners leave. Don't expect much recommendations or conversations, the menu is simple and straightforward enough.

Food at Restoran Lee is Chinese Zi Char, with a focus on crabs. They offer 10 different ways of cooking crab; from the traditional, to the uncommon, to the modern. They also have a few other Chinese Zi Char dishes to accompany. Quality and taste is above average, with the crabs being large and fresh. Portions are sized for communal group dining, and prices are reasonable, budget about MYR RM86 / SGD $28 per person.

The Otah / Otak-Otak (MYR RM13 / SGD $4.30) here is a medium thick slab, with a soft, tender texture. Steamed over a little egg, which prevents the otah / otak-otak from sticking to the metal plate. Has a delicate savoury fishy spicy flavour, nice.
