Established in September 2014 by co-founders Vincent Félicité, Tachfine El Belky, and Arthur De Corbier, FitThree is a ready-to-eat meal preparation delivery company specialising in healthy meals that fuel an active lifestyle, mostly targeting gym-goers. Catering healthy and nutritious food that is transparent on the amount of calories per meal, FitThree offers options for omnitarian, low-carbohydrate, and vegetarian diets.

The individually-sized meal portions from FitThree cater for specific health diets, such as low carbohydrates, vegetarian, weight loss, or muscle building. Ingredients are carefully combined to ensure healthy nutrition in each meal, and in fact, they have a certified dietitian, Celeste Viviers, consulting on this. FitThree isn't halal-certified. Prices are tiered for bulk orders, and are seldom pegged to individual dishes.

Note that FitThree is not like other food delivery services, which deliver meals-on-demand. The service and delivery concept at FitThree operates on a twice weekly basis - what this means is their delivery service only delivers on 2 selected days and in bulk, encouraging a lifestyle of planning meals in advance. Besides ensuring customers have a healthier, controlled diet, it also encourages a consistent schedule and lifestyle, especially good for gym-goers.

FitThree meals are delivered chilled, and can be safely stored in the refrigerator chiller for up to 4 days. Preparing a FitThree meal is convenient, simply open and microwave it on medium heat for about 3 - 5 minutes. With Chef Warren Pho at the helm, meals are wholesome and filling. However, they're decently tasty but not outstanding, meant more to fuel activity than to excite the palate. In fact, FitThree used to only make delivery drops to selected gyms and fitness centres; they only switched to doorstep delivery as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Compared to other meal plan delivery companies, FitThree wins on nutrition, and the substantial portion sizes of their dishes. While the menu changes weekly, the available options per week are rather limited. Their food quality is decent, but the taste and presentation is lacking, with prices that are marginally higher. The twice weekly fixed delivery schedule, and short shelf life of meals, make FitThree better suited to those with a consistent schedule. Overall, FitThree doesn't quite work for me.

The Chicken Egg Roll Bowl features slippery chewy brown wheat soba noodles, with a light grainy sweet savoury flavour. The vegetables consist of crunchy cabbage, tender carrots, and soft bean sprouts, all lending bright vegetal sweet savoury flavour, with the dressing of sesame oil lending a lovely nutty aroma. The chewy minced chicken tossed with white onions and aromatics (garlic, ginger, rice wine vinegar) result in a bold savoury sweet earthy flavour. Very filling, but rather muted on taste. Worth ordering!

The Beef Sausage Stew features loose sticky brown rice, with a mild grainy sweet flavour. There's crunchy sauerkraut, a pickled cabbage with sharp sour sweet vegetal flavour. A medley of vegetables (white onions, carrots, leek, celery, turnip, bay leaf, edamame / immature soy beans) are tossed in apple cider vinegar, tomato paste, garlic, mustard, and olive oil, giving it a pleasant vegetal fruity sour sweet flavour. Finally, a large and juicy minced beef sausage (in pork casing) completes the dish, lending robust meaty salty savoury spice flavour. I enjoyed the sausage, less so for the rest of the dish. Could be improved.

The Zucchini Spinach Frittata has sides of creamy chunky mashed avocado with bright vegetal grassy sweet flavour, and soft feta bean salad (with white beans, feta cheese, brown onions, olive oil, parsley, lime juice, red wine vinegar, shallots) with deep earthy vegetal herbal savoury flavour. There were 2 juicy cherry tomatoes with bright vegetal sweet flavour. But the star was the large tender frittata, generous with fluffy egg, studded with soft wilted spinach, chunky pumpkin, and crunchy zucchini strips. This had a lovely eggy vegetal sweet savoury flavour. A delicious, fully vegetarian meal which I enjoyed. Highly recommended!

The Everything Fried Rice is like a chapalang (a mixture of things) of ingredients. The fluffy but dry brown rice is filled with bits of carrots, edamame, egg, tofu beancurd, string beans, green onions, salmon fish, minced chicken, and garlic. The result is a complex marriage of flavours, vegetal grainy sweet savoury salty in taste. There's crunchy kai-lan / Chinese kale / Chinese broccoli tossed in light soy sauce and fish sauce, lending a deep vegetal salty sweet savoury flavour. Completed with 2 partially-deshelled juicy prawns / shrimp, which had decent sweet savoury flavour. Nicely filling, but the taste lacks that smoky aroma of good fried rice, making this average at best. Could be improved.

By the time I'd come around to the Green Paella, 2 realisations had dawned on me - 1) they're using the same ingredients in slightly different ways to keep costs low, but this reduces variety and anticipation; and 2) that FitThree definitely doesn't design their meals for visual presentation. Taste is pretty decent, given a slight spice kick with green chili and cayenne pepper, and yes it's healthy, but by this time during the week, I was pretty bored by the lack of variety and flavours in each meal.

The Egg & Spinach Casserole is like a savoury bread pudding. The base of wobbly soft egg is topped with chewy wholemeal bread, and studded with juicy tomatoes, soft wilted spinach, tender white onions, and stringy parmesan cheese to hold it all togther. Has a lovely eggy bready sweet savoury vegetal flavour, with a hint of smoky aroma. Paired with a snappy chicken sausage with meaty savoury salty sweet flavour. Completed with chunky russet potatoes roasted with salt, thyme, rosemary, and black pepper, giving them a bold starchy herbal sweet peppery spice flavour. Yum. Good!

The Cheddar Chicken Meat Balls was decently tasty, though the jalapenos within got overwhelmed by the other ingredients. The tightly packed meat balls tasted mildly of minced chicken, cheddar cheese, and white onions, with a sweet savoury salty flavour and a light bouncy tender chew to texture. The tender roasted sweet potatoes and carrots held lovely vegetal starchy sweet flavour. The charred brussels sprouts were crunchy with bright vegetal sweet smoky flavour, but the portion was rather little. Completed with creamy chunky mashed avocado with bright vegetal grassy sweet flavour. Overall decently flavourful. Worth ordering!
