Established in July 2012 by founder-couple Ian Lee & Jerry Chompunuch Jomsangawong in Bangkok, Thailand, Creamery Boutique Ice Creams has since expanded with outlets in Malaysia and Singapore. Known for their exceptional small batch ice cream, and their unique lava cookies, Creamery Boutique Ice Creams still draws excitement from returning diners for their novel flavours and creative presentation.

Ambience at Creamery Boutique Ice Creams is simple and casual. The small seating area is warmly lit, and the modern furniture is decently comfortable. Even with safe distancing measures, there's still sufficient room for several groups at the same time. The display of the 12 ice cream flavours (which change regularly) is brightly lit and attractive. Touches of simple decor complete the homely look. I didn't quite like the messy-looking metal frame with decorative handwritten tissue notes though.

Service at Creamery Boutique Ice Creams is partially self-service, where ordering and payment is made over the counter, but staff serve orders to your table. Staff display good product knowledge, able to offer recommendations, as well as describe the flavours of ice cream available. I note they clean up quickly when diners leave. Recognising that diners may be here for their visually exciting desserts, they sometimes offer to wait till diners have readied their cameras before completing the finishing touches on a dessert tableside.

Food at Creamery Boutique Ice Creams is all about desserts, a blend of Western and Asian flavours, focusing on artisanal small batch ice cream and home made cookies. The tight focus results in consistently good quality, and more reason for repeat visits as the menu refreshes regularly. Portions are sized for individuals, but are often shared, as their desserts can be rich and decadent. Prices are comparable to other dessert parlours, budget about SGD $10 per person.

The Anti-Stress Tea (SGD $17.90 per pot) is priced per person, and quickly gets exorbitant. It's a calming, flower infusion with a blend of camomile, peppermint, jasmine, and other flowers. Has a bold earthy floral herbal sweet flavour. Expensive though.

The Classic With Banoffee (SGD $8.40) is a non lava cookie. We chose the Banoffee ice cream, which is made from a blend of milk, banana, toffee, and chocolate mud pie chunks. This has a creamy smooth texture with robust milky fruity candy sweet flavour. It paired well with the warm and soft Classic butter cookie, with its buttery grainy sweet flavour. Completed with crunchy cornflakes lending grainy notes. Easy to eat. Good!

The Choc-A-Lot With Berry Cheesecake (SGD $9.90) is finished tableside, with staff pressing a scoop of ice cream onto the hot cookie and sauce, resulting in a beautiful oozing flow. We chose the Berry Cheesecake ice cream, which is made from a blend of milk, cream cheese, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and salted biscuit crackers. This has a creamy smooth texture with mild fruity sour sweet grainy milky flavour. It paired well with the warm and soft Choc-A-Lot chocolate chip cookie and molten chocolate sauce, with its buttery chocolatey sweet flavour. Completed with crumbly butter cookie crumble with buttery sweet notes. So delicious. Highly recommended!

The Volcano With Heart Stop (SGD $10.90) lives up to its name when finished tableside, with staff pressing a scoop of ice cream onto the hot cookie and sauce, resulting in a gushing burst. We chose the Heart Stop ice cream, which is made from a blend of milk, brown butterscotch, and chocolate cake. This has a creamy smooth texture with bold chocolatey milky salty sweet flavour. It paired well with the warm and soft Volcano charcoal butter cookie and thick salted egg yolk sauce, with its buttery earthy salty savoury flavour. Completed with molten chocolate sauce with chocolatey sweet notes. Nice contrast of taste. Good!

The bizarrely named Mao Shan Wang Dark Gold With Piko Piko (SGD $13.50) feels like time has stopped when finished tableside, as after staff press a scoop of ice cream onto the hot cookie and sauce, it holds together for a moment, before slowly breaking open. We chose the Piko Piko ice cream, which is made from a blend of milk, tiramisu cake, coffee liqueur, Kopiko coffee candy, and mascarpone cheese. This has a creamy crunchy texture with deep earthy roasted sweet boozy flavour. It paired poorly with the warm and soft Dark Gold charcoal butter cookie and gooey mao shan wang durian sauce, with its rich earthy fruity sweet flavour. Completed with sprinkling of coffee powder with coffee bitter sweet notes. A plain ice cream would have worked better with this, due to the overwhelmingly strong clashing tastes.
