Established since January 1996 by Kishore and Duru Mirpuri, Shahi Maharani North Indian Restaurant is among the premier North Indian fine dining establishments in Singapore. Carrying on their mother's legacy, sisters Hoori Sharma and Chitra Mirpuri have curated an exquisite dining experience at Shahi Maharani North Indian Restaurant, where guests are accorded treatment befitting the royal Maharajas. Little wonder they've garnered a loyal following, and advance reservations are recommended in order to secure seats here.
Ambience at Shahi Maharani North Indian Restaurant exudes a regal charm, thanks to its lavish Mughal inspired decor. The warmly lit banquet hall is spacious, in shades of wood, burgundy, and gold. Lined with sturdy wooden furnishings with elegant carved finishes, which are nicely comfortable. Gleaming chandeliers overhead lend a sense of sophistication, while the plush rug and distinctive artwork immerse guests in the atmosphere. Pre-pandemic, a live band would have taken the stage here, entertaining with mellow classical music or rambunctious Bollywood stompers.
Service at Shahi Maharani North Indian Restaurant is attentive and hospitable. The seasoned service personnel are efficient at tasks, clean up quickly when diners leave, and demonstrate good product knowledge in describing dishes or wine pairings. They accord diners personalised attention, making you feel welcome and valued. Requests are readily accommodated, and staff seem practised at handling complex servicing situations. They proactively offer to clear finished plates throughout the meal or top up drinks. Most deserving of the awards they've won through the years.
Food at Shahi Maharani North Indian Restaurant features refined North Indian cuisine, living up to the fine dining experience it promises. The high standard and consistent quality of dishes served here are outstanding, satisfying even for seasoned gourmands. The respect for spices is evident, creating complex layers of flavours in dishes, enticing and delicious. Portions are large, designed for communal dining, and require a healthy appetite. Prices are comparable to other fine dining restaurants, and aren't overly exorbitant, budget about SGD $51 per person for a meal here.

Loved the Pistachio Kulfi (SGD $14), with its creamy smooth texture and bright nutty sweet milky flavour. Garnished with crushed pistachio nuts for more nutty flavour. This pistachio ice cream starts out firmer than other versions, but quickly begins to melt, and should be eaten fast. Good!
