More commonly referred to simply as 'IHOP', the outlets operated by International House Of Pancakes (IHOP) Restaurants are often open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are a good option for an affordable and filling breakfast.

Ambience at IHOP is brightly lit, spacious, and comfortable, exuding a casual diner vibe. Large cushioned booth seats and functional tables are neatly spread around, while seasonal decor greets guests at the entrance. The kitchen is semi-open, but this also means there is the lingering smell of griddle-cooked pancakes and maple syrup in the air. The facade alludes to the signature a-frame design the older outlets are associated with.

Service at IHOP is friendly and efficient. Staff are polite, quickly greeting and seating guests, offering them assistance and demonstrating good product knowledge in describing dishes. They regularly check if your dining experience is going well. I note staff quickly clean up the tables when diners leave, and the kitchen also fulfils orders quickly and efficiently. Very happy with the friendly and attentive service, so we left big tips for the servers.

Food at IHOP is classic American cuisine, focused on breakfast. True to its name, most dishes can be paired with buttermilk pancakes. Freshly made to order and piping hot when served, excellent during cold weather. There's good consistency in execution even across outlets. Portions are large for individuals. The Coffee Brewed (USD $3.39) is thin with a toasty earthy flavour and smoky aroma. The black coffee is refillable as they have a 'no empty pot' approach for coffee. You may opt to add sugar and creamer, which are served separately. Good!

Enjoyed the simple yet hearty Biscuits And Gravy (USD $3.99), with the buttermilk biscuits having a soft crumbly texture with buttery honeyed floral sweet savoury flavour. The beef sausage gravy has a creamy thick texture, with milky savoury salty sweet flavour. Yum. Highly recommended!

The griddle-cooked Pancakes (USD $1.99) are made with buttermilk, served in a stack dressed with salted butter and maple syrup. Has a light floral bready sweet savoury flavour and a fluffy soft warm texture, yum. Served to accompany most dishes here, I like that these are freshly prepared and not dry. Highly recommended!

The Egg Omelette itself is large and oval-oblong in shape, has a fluffy soft texture, filled with gooey cheddar cheese, bouncy sautéed button mushrooms, crisp sautéed spinach, and juicy tomatoes. This carries eggy sweet vegetal earthy savoury salty cheesy flavour, filling and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

The Full American Breakfast / Scrambled Eggs Breakfast itself is plentiful, with fluffy soft scrambled eggs with milky eggy sweet flavour, crispy pork streaky bacon rashers with smoky meaty salty savoury fatty flavour, tender smoked pork ham with meaty salty savoury flavour, crispy hashbrowns with starchy salty savoury flavour, and snappy juicy grilled pork sausages with smoky meaty savoury salty herbal flavour. Varied and filling. Highly recommended!

The Chicken And Waffles (USD $12.99) is classic American South soul food. The waffles, dressed with creamy salted butter and thick maple syrup, have a chewy soft fluffy texture with buttery bready floral sweet savoury salty flavour. The boneless chicken tenders have a crisp crunchy light crust, moist tender chicken meat, and meaty savoury salty spice sweet flavour. Rather addictive, I wished for more. Highly recommended!
