Opened in 1998 by Nick Manettas, whose family deals in the seafood trade, Nick's Seafood Restaurant is popular for combining a beautiful ambience, professional service, and delicious food, in a convenient location. The enduring appeal of Nick's Seafood Restaurant is evident daily, with locals, tourists, families, office workers, and business people packing the place through lunch and dinner.

Ambience at Nick's Seafood Restaurant offers sweeping views of Darling Harbour. Sitting either in the indoor or outdoor area, lit by natural sunlight, the comfortable furnishings lull diners into lingering meals, while the waterfront breeze and hum of foot traffic buzzes around. The open yet relaxed atmosphere here is fantastic. They were among the earliest restaurants to set the standard for Sydney modern dining culture when they opened, and that legacy carries on today.

Service at Nick's Seafood Restaurant has been consistently dependable. Staff manage the crowds with efficiency and professionalism, warmly greeting new or returning customers. They demonstrate attentiveness to each diner, good product knowledge, and proactively offer to clear finished plates, cleaning up quickly after diners leave. I like that they check on the experience without being obtrusive, and introduce each dish as it's served.

Served with a fresh crisp mesclun salad (romaine lettuce, arugula / rocket leaves, chervil, curly endive / frisée, baby spinach, mizuna, and baby chard) with vegetal bitter herbal sweet flavour, and a side of creamy thick tartar sauce with milky tangy sour zesty sweet flavour. Decent.

The Salt & Pepper Baby Calamari Squid (AUD $38) has tender succulent whole baby calamari squid, coated in a light seasoned batter of salt, black pepper, and all-purpose flour, then deep-fried. With its savoury salty sweet peppery spice flavour, this was so enticing. Served with a fresh crisp mesclun salad (romaine lettuce, arugula / rocket leaves, chervil, curly endive / frisée, baby spinach, mizuna, and baby chard) with vegetal bitter herbal sweet flavour, and a side of creamy thick lemon aioli sauce with milky zesty sour tangy flavour. Good!

The Pan-Seared Scallops With Honey Soy Dressing (AUD $40) features bouncy springy perfectly pan-seared whole scallops with meaty sweet savoury flavour, tastefully arranged over a thin honey and soy sauce dressing which lends honeyed floral earthy salty savoury sweet flavour. Accompanied by fresh crisp arugula / rocket leaves with vegetal bitter herbal flavour. Good!

The Snapper Fish And Chips (AUD $55) has a large hefty fillet of deboned snapper fish, coated in a beautiful light salt and all-purpose flour batter, then deep-fried. Has a soft crisp exterior, a tender flaky interior, and meaty savoury sweet salty flavour. Paired with thick-cut potato chips which are crisp and fluffy with starchy salty savoury flavour. Served with a creamy thick tartar sauce with milky tangy sour zesty sweet flavour. Request for malt vinegar if you prefer added zesty sour tangy kick. Decorated with a bit of chervil which is crisp with vegetal herbal sweet flavour. Highly recommended!

Loved the Whole Giant Grilled King Prawns With Greek Horiatiki Salad (AUD $49). The Greek Horiatiki Salad features a medley of fresh vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, kalamata olives, bell peppers / capsicum, lettuce) and feta cheese, dressed with oregano and olive oil. With a pleasant crisp crunchy soft texture, this carries bright vegetal earthy sweet earthy salty cheesy flavour. The Grilled King Prawns are large and served butterflied, dressed with a delicious garlic butter sauce. With a tender crunchy chew to texture, this carries sweet savoury buttery salty herbal spice flavour. Peels away nicely from the shells. Highly recommended!

Beautifully grilled, with chewy succulent bouncy textures and robust smoky savoury salty sweet flavour. Served over a bed of orange and fennel salad, which is crisp juicy with vegetal sweet fruity sour zesty herbal flavour. Paired with thick-cut potato chips which are crisp and fluffy with starchy salty savoury flavour. Highly recommended!
