Broaster Chicken is the latest entry into the Fast-Food Fried Chicken market, hoping to challenge the dominance of KFC, Popeyes and Texas. But how do they match up?
Chicken: Wins points for the crispy skin, while still being juicy inside. They apparently use a special method of cooking known as "Broasting", which locks in flavour and moisture into the meat, hence the name of the franchise. I feel Broaster Chicken's chicken is better than KFC, though it lacks an added oomph taste-wise that Popeyes and Texas have.
Fish: At Broaster Chicken, it is much better than Long John Silver's, almost like the Fish & Chips from your average nearby hawker / coffeeshop western food.
Sides: I feel that this is where Broaster Chicken loses out to the other franchises... They have a less limited amount of sides, and taste-wise, isn't really that good. Also, they seem to feature potatoes done in many different ways, but if you wanted something non-potato, you'll have a problem with their offerings.
Still, if you're nearby, do try their chicken.
