Description:
Salmon Fillet, also known as Salmon Fish Fillet, is a common Western style method of serving salmon. Although there are hundreds of Salmon Fillet recipes, there are a few similarities between them, namely, the fillet is large and whole, normally served intact. There are also only a few methods Western style Salmon Fillet is prepared in, either grilled, roasted, pan seared, sauteed, baked, or poached.

Salmon Fillet is a common dish, served especially along the rivers and coastal regions where salmon is plentiful, or in major urban cities worldwide. Classified as an oily fish, Salmon Fillet is said to be good for health, as it contains high amounts of protein, omega-3 fatty acid, and vitamin D.

A typical dish of Salmon Fillet often uses fresh, or frozen, salmon. Smoked salmon is never used. Cooking methods usually are light on sauce, often only using simple herbs and dressing, such that the natural taste of the Salmon Fillet shines through. The salmon is often deboned before cooking, and is ususally served alongside a simple salad, potatoes, or chips.

Personally, I prefer either the grilled or roasted Salmon Fillet, done to a light pink (medium-rare), with a dash of salt and pepper, or some lemon / lime juice. If there is a sauce, I prefer it on the side.
