With a history that stretches back to 1838, Yering Station is among the earliest, most established, and famed wineries in the region. Not to be outdone, their in-house restaurant, the Yering Station Wine Bar Restaurant, is an award-winning, acclaimed fine dining establishment. Head Chef Maxime Croiset brings his Michelin-starred culinary experience in British English, French, and Australian cuisine to the table, producing exciting modern contemporary dishes, made with fresh seasonal produce, plated like works of art. No surprise then, that advance reservations are a must to get a seat at Yering Station Wine Bar Restaurant.

Ambience at Yering Station Wine Bar Restaurant exudes a sophisticated yet relaxing splendor. The expansive hewed stone and glass facade, with its high ceilings and ample natural lighting, sets the stage for a classy, luxurious meal. Stunning views from the large al-fresco terrace, of farmlands, fields, hills, and blue skies, as far as the eye can see. Furnishings are comforable, the black cushioned chairs and white marbled tables blending seamlessly with the opulent, natural surroundings. I could just sit here for hours, with my glass of wine, and watch the clouds go by.

Service at Yering Station Wine Bar Restaurant is professional, courteous, and efficient, generally the standards expected of a fine dining place. Staff welcome guests at the entrance, and communicate information clearly. They're knowledgable on the menu, able to make recommendations, and briefly describe dishes, even though the menu is seasonal and changes often. They come around to check on your dining experience, offering to top up wine or water. Staff also clear away empty / dirty dishes efficiently after each course. I note they accord special attention to families with infants, ensuring their comfort.

Food at Yering Station Wine Bar Restaurant is modern Australian cuisine. Head Chef Maxime Croiset uses fresh, seasonal ingredients to create wonderful looking, delicious works of art on the plate. The menu is focused, allowing each dish to be executed to the highest standards. Expect thoughtful flavours which work in harmony, with individual components being well prepared. Portions are sized for individuals, but is usually quite filling. Expect to pay a slight premium for dining here though. Budget about AUD $70 / SGD $75 per person for a full meal here.

Being a winery, it's no surprise they have an extensive range of wines. However, I personally feel it's more value for money to get a whole bottle, rather than individual glasses of wine. To whet the appetite, they also serve a decent slice of Bread ($Complimentary), complemented by a side of Truffle Butter, which is outstandingly delicious.

Loved the Thick Cut Chips, Lemon & Roast Chicken Salt (AUD $10 / SGD $10.80). The warm, fluffy potato that has a light sweet flavour, contrasted by the salty roasted flavours of the chicken salt. Delicious, even on its own. Highly recommended!

Upon that 1st bite of the Corn-Fed Chicken, Peas, Red Grape, Caterpillar Mushroom, Hazelnut, Sesame Butter (AUD $41 / SGD $44), I immediately understood why this place is so highly recommended. The chicken is among the most smooth, moist, tender, sweet, delicate morsel I've ever eaten. The contrast from the medley of vegetables and fruits work so well, complement and not distracting with its notes of sour sweet zesty. So beautiful to look at, and even more delicious and heavenly in taste. Highly recommended!

The Pan-Grilled Snapper Fish, Zucchini Roulade, Confit Apricot, Rosemary, Caper Powder (AUD $42 / SGD $45) feature 2 distinct components, both well executed. The snapper fish has a smoky savoury skin that is nicely crisp, with fish meat that is clean-tasting, tender, moist, sweet, and flakes off nicely. The vegetable roulade is juicy sweet earthy vegetal in taste, the contrasting textures of crunchy and tender working in harmony, a delightful refreshing flavour burst on the palate. I also appreciate the beautiful plating and presentation. Highly recommended!
