Have fond memories of a pleasant dining experience at Element Restaurant, so I was looking forward to the launch of their festive Christmas menu for 2017. This year, Element Restaurant is introducing a Peranakan-themed spread, alongside classic Christmas favourites.
The festive Christmas buffet at Element Restaurant is only available on the 24th, 25th, and 31st of December 2017. Priced at SGD $138++ per person, this unbelieveable value-for-money price includes full access to the varied buffet spread with over 50 dishes, fresh seafood, the festive Christmas line-up, and free flow beer, sparkling and house pour wines! Thus, advance reservations are a must!

Of the festive appetizers, the Marinated Duck Rillettes, Red Wine Dried Fruit Chutney, Gherkin Salsa stood out for its delicious creamy meaty texture, and bold savoury flavour complemented by the sweet sour tartness of the sauce.

The Tuna Tataki With Cucumber Ribbons And Puffed Quinoa has a nice sear with a meaty chew to texture, and a lovely fresh savoury sweet flavour. The cucumber ribbons lend a bright vegetal freshness to it.

My favourite appetizer of the festive line-up would be the Cocktail Prawns And Crab Meat With Duo Melon. This has deshelled crab meat, stacked with deshelled prawns / shrimp. The freshness and simplicity of the pairing is the key here, and it's so yummy.

The Cognac Lobster Bisque is rich and robust with savoury briny salty flavour, full of the crustacean taste. I did wish there was some textural contrast though.

The Peranakan-Roasted Turkey With Buah Keluak Sauce is the centerpiece of this Christmas feast. Chef tells us this takes 3 whole days to prepare! The turkey is infused with the essence of buah keluak / pangium edule, and also used to glaze the roasted skin. The earthy notes complement the savoury salty flavours of the roasted turkey, nice.

Loved the Stir-Fried Moreton Bay Bug With Salted Egg, with its bouncy meaty slipper lobster / crayfish meat, so fresh and sweet briny salty in flavour. Generously coated in a rich, thick, salted egg yolk sauce, spiced with curry leaves and chili, giving it a nice kick. Utterly delicious.

The Grilled Tajima Wagyu Beef with Foie Gras Cubes is served in a robust savoury salty meaty gravy, and the tender strips of Tajima wagyu beef are so tender and succulent, nearly melting away in the mouth with a slight chew. Complemented with creamy fatty cubes of foie gras, which lend a touch of luxurious elegance.

Being a Peranakan-themed spread, the range of festive mains are rounded out by dishes such as Steamed Broccoli With Conpoy And Chinese Mushrooms, Steamed Grouper With Lime Beurre Blanc Topped With Tomato Vierge, and Roasted Chicken With Meat Floss.

They have several unique Christmas log cakes here. The Cempedak Yule Log Cake has a bold fruity sweet flavour with a fluffy soft creamy texture, studded with bits of juicy cempedak within. The Pink Champagne Lychee With Petit Marshmallow Yule Log Cake is novel, with its spongy sticky marshmallow texture, and fruity sweet flavour of lychee, complemented by a dash of champagne!
