Opening within the modern Yishun Park Hawker Centre in September 2017, Ah Tan Wings is a humble family-run coffeeshop stall, specialising in har cheong gai / prawn paste chicken. The sister brother team of Tan Yu Yan and Tan Wee Yang spent over a year perfecting their secret recipe, going through over 800 variations before settling on their current offering. As such, at Ah Tan Wings, you'll probably get among the best har cheong gai / prawn paste chicken in Singapore.
Ambience at Ah Tan Wings is shared with the rest of the hawker centre, which isn't a bad thing. The modern concept is bright, airy, and spacious, as well as being rather clean. Amenities such as sinks and loyalty card top-up kiosks are well positioned and accessible. Feels very comfortable walking around here.
Service at Ah Tan Wings is completely self-service, with ordering, payment, and collection of orders over the counter. Staff are friendly and helpful though, and will engage you in conversation while waiting. That said, fulfillment of orders is really quick, taking about 5 minutes or so.
Food at Ah Tan Wings is all about their signature har cheong gai / prawn paste chicken... in fact, the menu is more or less limited to this. Choose to have it on its own, or pair it with a meal. Portions are decently sized, you won't be super full, but just nice. Prices are wallet-friendly, budget about SGD $6 per person for a meal here.

The must-order here is the signature Har Cheong Gai / Prawn Paste Chicken Wings & Drums (SGD $1.70 per whole piece). Each whole piece has 1 wing and 1 drum, the crisp batter having a satisfiying crunch with a bold savoury prawn / shrimp flavour. Within, the juicy and tender chicken meat pulls easily away from the bone, and holds good savoury sweet flavour. Best eaten when hot and fresh. Highly recommended!

The Atas Wing Meal (SGD $5.20) is served with fluffy fragrant buttered rice, an egg, and crunchy slices of fresh cucumber. The star is the shatteringly-crispy har cheong gai / prawn paste chicken wings (with a mix of 5 pieces of wings or drums). Bite in, and the satisfiying crunch gives way to juicy, tender, savoury sweet chicken meat with a bold layer of the prawn / shrimp flavour. Delicious. Pair this with a sharp sour and mildly spicy house chili sauce, which has a quick burn. Highly recommended!

With the Atas Cutlet Meal (SGD $6.50), the fluffy fragrant buttered rice, egg, and crunchy slices of fresh cucumber, are all still present. But here, they serve a medium sized fillet of chicken thigh, coated in that satisfiyingly crispy har cheong gai / prawn paste chicken batter. The thick chicken meat within is tender and juicy, bold and robust with savoury sweet flavour. With its larger surface area, it seems the prawn / shrimp flavour has seeped and infused directly into the chicken meat. There is a thin chicken skin which is easily removed. Good!
