Capitalising on the trend of poké bowls, Poké Lulu opened in May 2017, and to date, still remains a solid place to enjoy this American Hawaiian dish of marinated and seasoned raw fish over salad and rice. Freshness of the ingredients is the key here, and with each of their 3 poké bowl sizes; small, medium, large; you have a variety of add-ons to choose from.
Ambience at Poké Lulu is bright, cheery, and modern functional. Seating is limited in the small floor area, making it an eat-and-go kind of place. Furnishings are closely packed, and basic in comfort. Most customers choose to order takeaway. I like that the display of marinated poké fish is bright and catches the eye, and that complimentary water is provided.
Service at Poké Lulu is completely self-service, with ordering, payment, and collection of orders over the counter. Diners are also encouraged to self-service clearing of tables after the meal, but the drawback is that often, tables aren't wiped and are unclean. However, staff are friendly and display decent product knowledge, able to advise diners with dietary restrictions.
Food at Poké Lulu is all about the American Hawaiian poké bowl. There is a good variety of ingredients to customise your meal - 3 types of base, 7 types of poké, 15 types of add-ons, and 4 types of superfood. Portions are sized for individuals, and are nutritious and filling. Prices are comparable to other similar places, budget about SGD $17 per person for a meal here.

Both the Original Tuna and Original Salmon are marinated in the traditional, classic poké marinade. This consists of shoyu / Japanese light soy sauce, sesame sauce, spring onions, onions, and sesame seeds. Flavour is savoury salty sweet with a hint of nutty.

I got the Poké Bowl, Medium (SGD $15.90), with a scoop (75g) each of Original Tuna and Original Salmon. Base of brown rice, with fresh crunchy lettuce. For the salad add-ons, I chose corn kernels, almonds, walnuts, and pineapple, along with quail eggs. This gave the bowl a lovely contrast of textures; tender, crunchy, juicy, fluffy, soft. The freshness is so appetizing, and the sweet savoury salty nutty vegetal eggy fruity flavours work so well together. Highly recommended!

On another visit, I got the Poké Bowl, Medium (SGD $15.90), with a scoop (75g) each of Wasabi Mayonnaise Tuna and Wasabi Mayonnaise Salmon. Base of mixed brown and white rice, with fresh crunchy lettuce. For the salad add-ons, I chose cherry tomatoes, jalapenos, golden raisins, and sunflower seeds, along with avocado, then dressed the bowl with goma / sesame sauce. This gave the bowl a bold contrast of textures; tender, crunchy, juicy, chewy, creamy. The flavours of sweet savoury sour nutty vegetal tangy spicy are complex and layered, with a lingering heat on the palate. Good!
