Located about 20 minutes drive away from the Changi international airport in Singapore, Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road offers well-decorated, comfortable, spacious serviced apartments with fully-equipped kitchens, suitable for long-stay residents. As they've recently opened up for short-stays as well, the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road make for an excellent staycation for families and couples, with the nearby cultural and heritage area of Kampong Glam and Sultan Gate just a short walk away.
Ambience
Ambience at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road carries an understated elegance and quiet grace. Clean straight lines, elegant marble tiles, and decorative wood work, are complemented by bright quirky spotlights and an intimate feel. They seem to love books here, with a good-sized, interesting collection of reading materials in the common lounge, aptly named the 'The Living Room', which features plush comfortable chairs for relaxing. Views from the high floors are fantastic, surrounded by verdant greenery, sleek cityscapes, tranquil waters, and raw construction sites.
Room
Rooms at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road are spacious, certainly larger than most hotel rooms (though smaller than most suites). I stayed at the 1-bedroom executive suite, which featured a spacious living and dining area (suitable to host a small group of friends), and a decent sized bedroom with working desk, and en-suite bathroom with rain shower. While I felt the wardrobe was rather limited for long-stays, there's sufficient storage space around for your stuff. Also loved the in-room washer & dryer, and well-equipped kitchen where we cooked 3 meals.
Food
Food at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road is limited, but at least it's prepared in-house, and to Pan Pacific standards. This means a largely Western-oriented menu, with their excellent Pan Pacific chicken cheese sausages as the star. These are juicy, generously stuffed with gooey cheese, bursting forth from the snappy chicken sausages when bit. Everything else is passably decent, though nothing to really shout about. The in-room kitchen has all the necessary tools for cooking or baking, though you'll need to purchase your own ingredients, spices, mixers, and condiments.
Service
Service at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road is efficient, kudos especially to the housekeeping who strive to keep up with the large volume of guests on short-stays. They work quickly and efficiently at cleaning or refreshing rooms. The lobby staff also have good processes in place to manage a large volume of guests checking in or out on a daily basis, such that even those who have to wait are satisfactorily placated. That said, I note the team could have better coordination, such that requests are promptly passed to the appropriate personnel.
Facilities & Activities
The facilities and activities at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road are minimal, designed mostly to facilitate social interaction between long-stays. Primarily, this revolves around video gaming or playing pool in the common lounge, or working out in the well-equipped gymnasium. Exploring the nearby Kampong Glam and Sultan Gate areas are the main draw of their location, from the delightful restaurants, the inspiring heritage and cultural sites, the bustling nightlife, and the quirky curio shops. Will gladly return to the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road for another stay!
